HOLIDAY BAZAAR - December 1st will be this year’s holiday bazaar at The Perry Historians’ Harry Lenig Library. That’s also the day we’ll draw the lucky winners of this year’s raffle. For the day of the bazaar, local authors Dennis Hocker and Linda Martin Gilmore are slated to be on hand with all their books, any of which would make excellent Christmas presents. Linda’s book on Saville Township and Ickesburg has been a fantastic seller this year in conjunction with Ickesburg’s bicentennial. Denny’s recent release “Secrets of the Clark’s Ferry Tavern” has just come out and delves into the history of the famed Duncannon landmark with a paranormal twist. See how the paranormal can be verified with historical facts and records. Dennis Hardy from Hardy’s Maple Syrup will be here offering his selection of Perry County made sugar items. Campbell’s brooms (made right up the road in Andersonburg) will be available for purchase as well and of course Perry Historians apple butter will be available for purchase. Other local artists and crafters will be there offering all kinds of hand made gift ideas and we’ll also have a selection of items from Kids Korner Gift Shoppes, giving younger shoppers a chance to pick up a special, inexpensive gift for their loved ones. Also returning this year will be several door prizes for attendees including the “made in Perry County” gift basket, a Perry County license plate and a t-shirt with the print of the Newport Canal mural by famed artist Biruta Hansen. WEST PERRY MINISTERIUM to Present Free Annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 2 Loysville: On Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m., the West Perry Ministerium Choir will present its annual holiday concert at Centre Presbyterian Church, 3912 Freeman Hollow Road, Loysville, PA. Under the direction of Rick Smiley, the choir will sing the cantata “Come Let Us Adore.” This year’s cantata features traditional holiday favorites such as Away in the Manger and Do You Hear What I Hear as well as newer arrangements entitled Midnight Clear, Close to Christmas, Adore, A Christmas Alleluia, Noel, and A King Like This. MILLERSTOWN TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY `- Millerstown will be lighting up the town again to celebrate Christmas on December 8 at 7 p.m in the square when the Millerstown Lions Club will hold their annual Christmas Tree and Street Lighting ceremony. The Millerstown Lions have been lighting up the town for the holiday for many years and recently acquired better LED lighting displays. This year’s tree will be multi-colored a change from most previous years. The ceremony will be held outside, and Christmas caroling will be held prior to flipping the switch to turn on the holiday lights which will remain lit until after New Years. Children should come out with their parents as a visit from Santa Claus from

the North Pole will take out time to greet the children and hand out treats to all who attend. Everyone is invited to come out and share in an evening of decorating the town for the holiday season.
