OPEN THIS SUNDAY 12:00 TO 4:00!

At this point, my prediction is the Republicans are going to have to hold their breath or their nose and accept Donald Trump, even though the new poll in Iowa shows Ted Cruz leading at 31% over Donald Trump at 21%. Here's the catch: The Des Moines Register conducted the poll! Remember, The Des Moines Register was the newspaper that The Donald banned from his press conference. Could this be a gotcha moment? With Ted Cruz on the rise and also Marco Rubio, could this become a three way split?

• A Republican wipeout down the ballot in the general election. • The effect of his outl an d i s h c om m e nt s (What's coming next?) • Inability to go after him without angering Trump supporters. • Trump will go in as an Independent (their biggest fear!) Keep in mind Trump supporters come from many segments of the Republican Party. But I think Chuck Todd on Meet the Press might be right: The Democrats are falling in line and the Republicans are falling in love with the bad boy!

New Polls: Leading into the fifth and final debate of the year, this Tuesday night on CNN one of the national polls showed: Trump 27% Cruz 22% Rubio 15% Carson 11% The Iowa poll (The Des Moines Register) showed: Cruz 31% Donald 21% And then come Rubio and Carson.

On to the recent climate change conference in Paris. It's important to note our government is going to give $860 million to other nations to work with us on climate change. What idiots! I've said it once, I'll say it again, Barack Obama and his groupies are the worst thing that ever happened to this country! And Hillary Clinton is part of the current establishment. Obama said he feels the climate change conference was a turning point for the world. The kicker is there's nothing to hold these 186 other countries to their word.

We're 50 days out before the Iowa caucuses! It's time for the GOP to get together! Why does the GOP fear Donald Trump?

Oh! I forgot! When questioned about the stupidity of this deal, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said we could wag our fingers at them and that could be the worst thing! We are $19 trillion in debt and we continue to give other countries our money. What a deal for the world! Not us! If this administration wasn't s o b ad for America this would all be laughable. On a closing note, the mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel —again, another part of the past Obama administration — needs to give it up and resign! No one can tell me he agreed to pay out $5 million, where there was no wrong doing (and you've got to know he watched the tape!) In my world they call it hush money! It just didn't work this time. Until next week. To comment on this or any column in The Shopper’s Weekly, please mail to: Editor, P.O. Assistant; and Misty Bowlby, Marion County Driver. Over the past thirteen years South Central Transit employees and staff have participated in the BCMW and WJBD Radio Adopta-Family Program by adopting more than three hundred children. Due to the kindness and generosity of SCT’s many volunteers who shopped, wrapped, donated toys, and money, thirty children from eleven different families will have a brighter Christmas this year.

Each child adopted by South Central Transit is provided with warm clothing or outfits and at least one item from their individual wish list. The South Central Transit organization wishes to thank all of the many volunteers and program organizers for contributing to the success of the Adopta-Family Program. memoratively decorated trailer journeyed to Missouri Veterans Cemeter y at Bloomfield to make its first delivery. Tinnin was escorted the entire route by police, American Legion Riders, Patriot Guard Riders, and others from Lawless Harley Davidson. Tinnin hauled the remaining wreaths to the American Legion in Benton where they were later taken to Old Benton Cemetery, St. Denis Cemetery, Lightner Cemetery, St. Lawrence Church, and St. Joseph Cemetery. All wreaths were laid by volunteers on National Wreaths Across America Day — December 12, 2015. A ceremony was held on December 12, 2015, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield at 11 a.m. The Buchheit Logistics truck and trailer were present. On December 15, additional wreaths were delivered to the Buchheit Corporate Headquarters where all eight store managers received them on behalf of their local community American Legion, VFW, and AmVets posts. Each store manager will present a wreath to the posts in their communities as a token of gratitude for their service. The Buchheit family is proud to honor the military in each community they serve by displaying a commemorative wreath made by Wreaths Across America in

each of the retail stores, Corporate Office, Agri Division, and Buchheit Logisics office. Buchheit Logistics recruits from the Armed Forces veterans’ community, a practice that recently earned it the state of Missouri’s Flag of Freedom award. “Veterans are an essential part of our team,” said Jeff Buchheit, Army Veteran and Vice President of Buchheit Logistics, “Their service and dedication means so much to our family and our business.” About Wreaths Across America Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, begun by Maine bu s i n e s s m a n Mor r i l l Worcester in 1992. Mary Did You Know? Imagine what the Virgin Mary must have thought when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced that she was “highly favored” and chosen to bring forth the Messiah. I recently saw a stunning video of an a cappella rendition of a song by Peter Hollens — “Mary Did You Know?” The song asks, “Mary did you know that your baby boy would walk upon water? ... Mary did you know when you

kissed your baby boy, you kissed the face of God? ... Mary did you know your baby boy is the Lord of creation?” Consider this awesome birth announcement given to Mary by the angel Gabriel. It could forever change your life. (Luke 1:26-55) MARY’S VIRGINITY. The scriptures make it clear that the Christ would be born of a virgin. The angel Gabriel was dispatched to a virgin named Mary, who was espoused to a man named Joseph of

the house of David. (Luke 1:27) Isaiah prophesied, “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14) Immanuel means, “God with us!” The scriptures also tell us that before Mary and Joseph came together Christ was conceived in Mary’s womb by the Holy Spirit. If Jesus had an earthly father, he would have inherited the adamic sin nature and His blood could not have made atonement for our sins. M A RY ’ S C H I L D. Gabriel announced that the child Mary would give birth to would be called Jesus, which, in Hebrew, means “Yeshua — Jehovah is salvation.” “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest.” (Luke

Mary sang, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:46-55) Magnify Immanuel, Son of the Highest and He will fill you with song. Mary did you know? MARY’S SAVIOR. As blessed as Mary was, she acknowledged that she needed a Savior. “And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:47) The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and told him to take Mary who was pregnant, as his wife. “And she will bring forth a Son

and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21) Mary needed a Savior. You need a Savior. God gave the greatest gift of all, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) “Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? Mary, did you know your baby boy would make you new?”

The Virgin Mary had a logical question, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34) Gabriel told her of her cousin Elizabeth’s miracle of conception in her old age and revealed a powerful truth. “For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:38) Christmas is pregnant with miracles. Cooking With Lizzie

Favorite Italian Recipes You haven't had Italian until you've had Joe's Italian at Mamma Antonia's in downtown Centralia. I was lucky enough to be invited to spend last Monday evening in the kitchen with Joe. The minute I walked in the fun began as we opened a bottle of vino and Joe started filling me in on his secret recipes. Why the invite? Because Joe and I have shared our love of making a supreme lasagna, bread, home made noodles, and of course, a rich meat sauce, ragu from Bologna. When I asked Joe where he got his love of cooking and where he learned it he said, “Well, I'm a traditional Italian cook and I learned some from my mom. But mostly it was natural.” That was apparent as I watched him spin his magic in the kitchen with great passion. He grew up in Italy! I promised Joe I wouldn't give away his recipes. But I will say the sauces begin with the trinity which is every good cook's secret: onions, celery and, of course, carrots. It goes on from there. And then come the noodles for everything from lasagna to fettuccine. Joe starts with his secret weapon, a special flour which he orders. He was kind enough to give me a couple of pounds. As he stood over the delicacy of freshly made pasta, he smiled and said, “If you overcook the noodles you lose the nutritional value.” With Joe it's not about fast, unhealthy food, but about his diners getting the freshest, healthiest and most delicious meals, a heavenly dinner of home made noodles and sauce. I left with enough food to feed an army, but by the end of the evening I realized that there's Italian and then there's real Italian! There is nothing better than a perfect meal, good company and, of course, a glass of vino! Thanks, Joe. So for a quick trip to Italy, stop in at Mamma Antonia's. It truly is one of my favorite spots to kick back, relax and enjoy! Below are just a few of my favorite recipes. For Joe's recipes, you'll just have to talk to him!

Savory Lasagna 1 lb. ground pork 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup shredded carrot 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up 1/4 cup dry white wine 1 T. dried parsley flakes 1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon granules 1 tsp. dried marjoram, crushed

2 T. water 1 T. cornstarch 3 T. butter or margarine 3 T. all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1½ cups milk or light cream 1½ cups shredded Gruyere cheese 10 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles

8 oz. bulk pork sausage 1 medium cooking apple, peeled, cored, and chopped 5 oz. pkg. medium noodles 2 eggs 1/2 cup (2 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 beaten egg 1/2 cup cream-style cottage cheese, drained 1/2 cup (2 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese Snipped parsley (optional)

In a skillet cook the bulk pork sausage and the chopped apple till sausage is brown; drain off fat. Set aside. Cook the noodles in boiling salted water till al dente. Immediately drain in a colander. Rinse with cold water; drain. Combine the 2 eggs, the 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, the fine dry bread crumbs, and chopped onion. Pour the egg mixture over the noodles; toss to coat. Turn mixture into a greased 9-inch quiche dish or pie plate. Combine the 1 beaten egg, cream-style cottage cheese, and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese; stir in the sausage and apple mixture. Spoon mixture over the noodles in the quiche dish or pie plate. Bake in a 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or till mixture is heated through. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired. Cut into wedges to serve. Makes 6 main-dish servings.

Mediterranean Spaghetti 1 lb. fresh or frozen fish fillets 1 medium green pepper, cut into strips 1 clove garlic, minced 2 T. olive oil or cooking oil 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 3/4 cup dry red wine 1/4 cup snipped parsley

1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed 1/2 tsp. dried oregano, crushed 1/2 cup chopped pitted ripe olives 1 (2 oz.) can anchovy fillets, drained and cut up 10 oz. pkg. spaghetti

Thaw fish fillets, if frozen. In a 3-quart saucepan cook green pepper strips and garlic in olive oil or cooking oil till tender but not brown. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, wine, parsley, sugar, basil, and oregano. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 45 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove any skin from fish fillets and cut fillets into l -inch pieces. Press on paper toweling to remove excess moisture. Stir fish pieces into tomato mixture. Cover and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes or till fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Gently stir in olives and anchovy fillets; heat through. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water till al dente. Immediately drain the spaghetti in a colander. Serve fish mixture atop spaghetti. Makes 5 main-dish servings. *** Next week, the Shopper's Weekly staff 's favorite recipes! ***

For meat sauce, cook pork, onion, and carrot till the meat is brown and the vegetables are tender. Drain off fat. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, wine, parsley flakes, bouillon, marjoram, and 1/8 tsp. pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, about 45 minutes stirring occasionally. Combine water and cornstarch; add to mixture. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Set aside. Melt butter. Stir in flour, salt, and dash pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. Stir in shredded Gruyere cheese till melted. Set aside. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling salted water till al dente. Drain. Rinse

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) At this time you might want to resist that otherwise admirable Aries penchant for getting to the heart of a matter quickly. Keep in mind that a delicate situation calls for patience. TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Your aspects favor more diplomacy and fewer direct confrontations when dealing with a relationship problem. Avoiding hurt feelings can help in your search for the truth. GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) Positive aspects are strong this week. Although you might still have to deal with some problems caused by a recent period of turmoil, you are making progress, and that’s what counts. CANCER (June 21 to July 22) A family matter could benefit from your counsel. But don’t come into it unless invited, and don’t stay if you feel uneasy. Just remember to reassure one and all that you’ll be there for them. LEO (July 23 to August 22) As the truth about an ongoing situation emerges, you could find that you were right to defer judgment before you had all the facts. Now would be a good time to move on to other matters. VIRGO (August 23 to September 22) Your plans to take control of a personal situation because you feel you are best qualified could create resentment. Best to hear what everyone else involved in the matter has to say about it. LIBRA (September 23 to October 22) Uncovering some surprising background facts about that ongo-

ing personal matter could make you reconsider the extent of your involvement. A neutral family member offers advice. SCORPIO (October 23 to November 21) Religious or spiritual themes start to dominate your aspect this week. This can serve as a counterweight to the mounting effects of the season’s growing commercialization. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 to December 21) Taking on that recent challenge impressed a lot of important decision-makers. Meanwhile, proceed with your holiday plans, and don’t forget to include you-know-who in them. CAPRICORN (December 22 to January 19) Disagreeing with an opinion you can’t accept could be dicey, and your motives might be questioned. Best to wait to mount a challenge until you have support for your position. AQUARIUS (January 20 to February 18) Getting involved in helping others in this increasingly hectic period not only makes the generous Aquarian feel good, but you could also gain a more substantive benefit from your actions. PISCES (February 19 to March 20) The Piscean way of thinking clearly and objectively helps you resolve a complex situation without creating any ill will.
