The NFL is under siege, and some industry analysts are pointing at the great American game's sudden decline in TV ratings as proof. According to Nielson, the company most trusted to tell us about who is watching what and when, ratings this season are down somewhere between 10 percent and 15 percent, depending on the day you're watching. Is there any reason to worry? Of course not. The NFL is still the mostwatched programming in these United States. During this decade, the N F L Su n d ay Ni g ht Football broadcast on NBC is the most-watched television series there is, averaging a little over 15 percent of all households watching TV. The lowestrated games still dwarf the number of people watching anything else. More than 200 million individual viewers have tuned in to watch a game over the past five years. That's more than 60 percent of our entire country. So broadcasters and

NEW PARTNERSHIP MEANS FASTER DISABILITY DECISIONS FOR VETERANS Recently the Social Security Administration announced the launch of a new Health IT initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that enables all Social Security disability case processing sites to receive medical records electronically from all VA facilities. Veterans will receive a faster decision on their Social Security disability claim, speeding them and their dependents through this new process. Both agencies will save time and money with an automatic request through the eHealth Exchange. “President Obama has said, ‘we must maintain the sacred covenant we share with our veterans by ensuring they have the care and benefits they deserve,’ and I could not agree more,” said Carolyn W. Colvin, Acting Commissioner of Social Security. “We are committed to providing our veterans with the world class service they so richly deserve and improving the speed and efficiency of our disability program.” The new Health IT program was tested successfully at Social Security locations around the country. On Veteran’s Day, November 11, the eHealth Exchange will go live, nationally, to all

Social Security disability case processing sites. Social Security requests nearly 15 million medical records annually from healthcare providers and organizations to make medical decisions on about three million disability claims. Medical documentation is essential to make a disability determination. Historically, the agency obtained medical records through a manual process (mail, fax, secure mail). This new national initiative puts in place an automated process to obtain medical records electronically without human intervention. “VA is currently improving quality of life by enabling Veterans to share their health information with federal partners and integrating their data into a safe and secure health-related consumer application,” said Dr. David Shulkin, Under Secretary for Health of the Department of Veterans Affairs. “Currently, when eligible Veterans apply for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits the average wait time for Social Security to receive paper records from VA can take months; this partnership allows Social Security and VA to share the Veteran’s health information elec-

non-business classified

tronically in minutes. The Social Security and VA partnership allows VA to continue to be a leader in interoperability efforts among federal partners while improving overall quality of life for our Veteran patients.” This partnership adds the VA to Social Security’s more than 50 other Health IT partners, including the Department of Defense, in approximately 7,000 facilities across the United States providing electronic health records. Social Security’s goal is to continue expanding the number of healthcare organizations and federal agencies providing electronic health records within a safe and secure environment. To learn more about Health IT, please visit www. socialsecurity.gov/disability ssi/hit. Social Security offers two other programs to expedite disability claims filed by veterans. Wounded Warriors and veterans with a VA disability compensation rating of 100% Permanent & Total have their Social Security disability claims treated as high priority and receive expedited decisions. For more information about these programs, please visit www.socialsecurity.gov/ people/veterans.

the youth and families they serve. “We’re excited that the Festival of Trees has already grown in popularity just since making it a ‘standalone’ event for the first time last year. Our hope is that even more people in the community will have an opportunity to attend this year as we’ve extended the event through Sunday. Everyone has worked so hard on their trees, and the staff of UMCH is proud to continue this beautiful holiday tradition at the Granada. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to collaborate with the community, and we want this to be a festive weekend that the entire family can enjoy,” says Sandy Sinnett, Director of Development. The annual Live Nativity will also be held on Friday December 2, on the UMCH campus. Please visit www. umchome.org for more information.

The clean lines of Art Deco make it classic and timeless, and she points out what to look for as a collector. Miller is considered an expert of antiques and collectibles and frequently appears on television, both in America and the U.K. Her book explores all the key collecting areas with chapters on furniture, glass, ceramics, sculpture, metalwork, silver and jewelry, prints, posters, rugs and textiles. Miller's handsome, lavishly illustrated book also features accurate, up-todate pricing. Her book is published by Millers/ Mitchell Beazley. This might be a good place to begin your exploration of Art Deco. *** Q: During the 1940s, I attended a Nelson Eddy concert in Springfield, Illinois, with my parents and brother. Editor's note: Just prior to press, President-Elect Donald J. Trump appointed Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff and Steve Bannon as Chief Strategist. After a stunning victory last Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Donald J. Trump was elected to become the 45th President of this great country. So now what? After the shock wave settles and the crazy violent protesting stops — and trust it will, one way or another — Clinton supporters and Trump haters will have to learn to live with President Donald Trump just like half of us had to learn to live with Barack Obama! It's no secret I did not vote for Obama. But although most of what he did throughout his eight years in the oval office I didn't agree with, I kept him and his team in prayer. I'm hoping those of you who didn't support Trump, after you get over the disappointment, will do the same for the new Presidentelect. I also have to say I have been disgusted and disappointed with the liberal media, especially MSNBC, and people like Harry Reid and Al Sharpton as they spread hate and unrest, at times almost encouraging violence. However, maybe Al Sharpton's big issue is that the new Attorney General won't give him a free pass on his $4.5 million owed in back taxes. Time will tell. The bottom line is Trump won! At this point Mrs. Clinton is pointing a finger

at James Comey, the current FBI Director, for what she calls her heartbreaking loss. The reality is Hillary Rodham Clinton was a flawed candidate and can only blame herself. She suffered from incredibly low trust from voters, including in her own party, and more legal issues than anyone in the past political arena that I can remember. The problem is the Democratic Party didn't have a decent candidate for the President of the United States. But turning the page, forward to Donald J. Trump. Everyone is waiting for the jobs in Washington to be filled. Who will be the new Chief of Staff ? I personally believe it's between two people. The first is Reince Priebus, the current Chairman of the Republican National Committee. The other name that pops into my mind is Steve Bannon, an American businessman and media executive. In August 2016 he was designated the Chief Executive Officer of the 2016 campaign. My first guess is Reince Priebus! Next up, Tr ump's Cabinet-in-waiting. Trump's transition team has already spent some time the past several months quietly building a short list who could comprise one of the most eclectic and controversial Presidential cabinets in modern history. Some names being tossed around are: Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Chris Christie, Ben Carson,

Sen. Bob Corker, Sen. Jeff Sessions, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton. Other possibilities are Arizona Governor Jan B r e w e r, O k l a h o m a Governor Mary Fallin and Florida Governor Rick Scott. These are only a few of the names being tossed around. So what can we all expect to be Trump's top priorities? 1) Health care (to repeal and replace Obamacare). Not two days apart, not two months apart, but an immediate transition. 2) Immigration. 3) Jobs. 4) Filling Supreme Court seats. On to why or what happened. 1) People wanted something different. Four years of Clinton would have been an extension of Obama. 2) Trump was totally unpredicted, but especially underestimated. 3) The silent majority spoke. We were worn out with crazy liberalism, from gun control to violation of the Constitution. 4) Not to mention Benghazi and the email scandal among other discrepancies. So the bottom line is, it's time to drain the swamp. To comment on this or any column in The Shopper’s Weekly, please mail to: Editor, P.O. Ministries by: Cliff Sanders

Who is Jesus? Perhaps the most momentous question in all the world for you to answer is, who is Jesus? One’s eternal destiny hangs on the answer to this question. I’ve asked numerous people that question. Some say, he was a good moral teacher, he was a Jewish rabbi who was crucified, he was a prophet, he is the Son of God who died for the sins of the world and rose again on the third day. Jesus asked his disciples, “’Who do people say that the Son of man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah, but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ And Simon Peter answered and said, ‘Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Si mon B ar- Jon a h , because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.’” (Matthew 16:13-17) I pray that God will give you a revelation of who Jesus is. Oswald Chambers said, “Once you really see Jesus you

can never be the same.” The writer of Hebrews gave us one of the greatest God inspired treatises on Christology concerning who Jesus is. Consider this powerful life changing revelation in Hebrews 1 and ask yourself, according to this scripture passage, “Who is Jesus?” JESUS IS THE HEIR OF ALL THINGS. “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets . . . in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things.” (Hebrews 1:1-2) JESUS IS THE CREATOR OF THE WORLD. “Through whom also He made the world.” (Hebrews 1:2) John reveals that “all things came into being by Him.” (John 1:1-3) JESUS IS THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF THE FATHER BODILY. (Hebrews 1:3) “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His

nature.” (Hebrews 1:3) JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD. “And upholds all things by the word of His power.” (Hebrews 1:3; John 1:1-2) JESUS IS THE SACRIFICE FOR SINS. “When He made purification of sins.” (Hebrews 1:3) John the Baptist introduced Him as, “The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) JESUS IS THE LORD OF GLORY. “He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3) This is the place of power, authority, and glory. JESUS THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES. “Having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they” (Hebrews 1:4; Philippians 2:6-11) Jesus is Lord. JESUS IS THE ONLY BEGOT TEN SON. “Thou are My Son, today I have begotten you?” (Hebrews 1:5; John 3:16) JESUS IS VERY GOD. “And let all the angels of God worship Him . . . But of the Son He says, your throne, O God, is forever and ever.” (Hebrews 1:7-9) JESUS IS THE KING

OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Hebrews 1:8-9) He is the prophesied righteous branch of David. ( Je re m i a h 2 3 : 5 - 6 ; Hebrews 7:1-2) JESUS IS THE ANOINTED ONE. He is Christ, the Messiah. (Hebrews 1:9) JESUS IS LORD OF H E AV E N A N D EARTH. (Hebrews1:1011) JESUS IS THE LORD OF HOSTS. “Who makes His angels winds and His ministers a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7, 13-14) He is the creator and commander of heavens armies. (Jeremiah 32:7; 33:15-16) Who is Jesus? Martin Luther wrote, “In his life, Christ is an example, showing us how to live; in his death, he is a sacrifice, satisfying for our sins; in his resurrection, a conqueror; in his ascension, a king; in his intercession, our high priest.” Who is Jesus to you? “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (Romans 10:9-10) Shalom, Cliff Sanders Eagle Life Ministries eagleslife8@gmail.com

Wednesday, November 16, 2016 cat? — Jaynah and Sherar in Poughkeepsie, New York

Picking the Perfect Cat DEAR PAW’S CORNER: I’m really excited — my mom has decided we can get a kitten! We’re going to adopt one from the local shelter. Do you have any advice on picking the best

DEAR JAYNAH AND SHERAR: First of all, congratulations! It’s exciting to get your first pet. And I’m glad you’re choosing to adopt from a shelter. While I’ve always liked to say that we don’t pick cats, they pick us, that’s not entirely true. Sometimes it takes a little time to find that perfect fit. ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Some changes might seem confusing at first, especially to an Aries whose impatience levels are pretty shaky this week. Take it one step at a time, Lamb, and soon all will be made clear. TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) That difficult situation you’ve been dealing with continues to call for careful handling. Avoid quickly made choices that might not stand up when they’re finally put to the test. GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) You still have lots of evaluating to do before you can consider making a commitment. It’s better to move cautiously than to risk stumbling into a major misunderstanding. CANCER (June 21 to July 22) A previously peevish partner offers to be more helpful with your problems. But remember: The final choice is yours. Be guided by what you feel is the right thing to do. LEO (July 23 to August 22) As the Big Cat, you sometimes can be pretty rough on those you suspect of betrayal. The best advice is to pull in those claws and listen to the explanation. It might surprise you. VIRGO (August 23 to September 22) Your inner voice usually guides you well. But a note of caution: This is a period of mixed signals for you, so be careful that you don’t misunderstand the messages you’re getting. LIBRA (September 23 to October 22) Cupid’s call beckons both single Librans looking for a new love, as well

as couples hoping to strengthen their relationships. A workplace problem is quickly resolved. SCORPIO (October 23 to November 21) It’s been a hectic time for you, and you might want to take a break to restore both body and soul. You’ll then be set to face new challenges later this month. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 to December 21) It’s a good idea to take a more conservative approach to your financial situation right now. Some plans made earlier this year might need readjusting. CAPRICORN (December 22 to January 19) This is a fine time to move boldly into those new opportunities I promised would open up for you. Check them over, and then choose the best one for you. AQUARIUS (January 20 to February 18) Congratulations. Your self-assurance is growing stronger, and you should now feel more confident about making that long-deferred decision about a possible commitment. PISCES (February 19 to March 20) You’re very close to reaching your goal. But be wary of distractions that can lure you off-course and leave you stranded far away from where you really want to be. BORN THIS WEEK: You have an inner sight that helps you see into people’s hearts. You would be an excellent psychologist or social worker. (c) 2016 King Features Synd., Inc.
