Going To A Higher Range People tend to be stuck in a rut and satisfied in their comfort zones and traditions. One of the tasks of a shepherd or a rancher is to move the sheep or cattle to a higher range at certain seasons. The higher range lands are where the fresh, lush meadows are. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, leads us to a higher range in “paths of righteousness.” For God to take you to a higher range you must be willing to be re-arranged. The story of Peter and Cornelius teaches us how God re-arranges our lives to take us to a higher range of restoration and revival. (Acts 10) REWARDS COME TO THOSE WHO PRAY AND GIVE. Cornelius was commander of a regiment called, “The Italian Band.” “A devout man and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always.” (Acts 10:1-2) Generous giving to God and the needy opens one’s heart. Consistent prayer opens heaven for God’s blessings. “But without faith it’s impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) Cornelius was greatly rewarded as he sought God constantly in prayer. Are you seeking God? God is fixing the broken pieces in your life. Get ready for restoration. God is preparing you for
everything you have prayed for. RE-ARRANGEMENT POSITIONS YOU TO BE TAKEN TO A HIGHER RANGE. Peter had prejudices and traditions that needed to be rearranged by God. Peter being a Jew was prejudiced against Gentiles. As Peter prayed on a rooftop deck while awaiting lunch, God gave him a vision that rearranged his life and brought revival to the church. (Acts 10:9-23) In the vision he saw a sheet let down from heaven full of unclean animals. God spoke, “Arise Peter, kill and eat.” Peter, being a Jew, refused to kill and eat an unclean animal. Three times God gave Peter the same vision with the same command. God’s message was clear. “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” (Acts 10:14) Perhaps, like Peter, there are prejudices or traditions that must be rearranged or readjusted in your life for God to take you to a higher range of God’s blessings. Worship God – Love people. RELENTLESS FAITH WILL TAKE YOU TO A HIGHER RANGE of refreshing and revival. (Acts 10:19-22) Peter had to act upon the vision and word from the Lord. The Spirit revealed to Peter that three men would be knocking on his door. He was not to hesitate to go with them to Cornelius’ house to share the gospel of Christ with his household. When the Spirit of God speaks to you, don’t hesitate to step out in faith and obedience,
Wednesday, May 2, 2018 “doubting nothing.” (Acts 10:20) Faith and obedience to the voice of the Spirit sets in motion the miracle work of God. RECOUNTING THE GOSPEL prepares the heart for revival. When Peter arrived at Cornelius’ house, he shared to good news of the cross of Christ and his resurrection. (Acts 10:2544) The apostle Paul declared that the gospel of Christ alone is “the power of God unto salvation for the Jew first and for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16) Only the cross of Christ can restore your soul and prepare you for a higher range of the blessings of God. REVIVAL COMES TO T H I R ST Y H E A RT S . Revival is not about filling empty pews - it’s about filling thirsty and hungry hearts. (Acts 10:33) As Peter preached the gospel of Christ, “The Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.” (Acts 10:44) Peter and the Jewish believers were astonished. “And those who believed were astonished . . . because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.” (Acts 10:44-47) Many times God must rearrange our hearts and our traditions and doctrines before he can take us to a higher range of revival. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit was called “the gift.” (Acts 10:45) The gift of the Holy Spirit is for all believers, Jew and Gentile. Have you been stuck or satisfied in your comfort zone and traditions? God has so much more for you. Let the Lord rearrange your heart and lead you to the higher ranges of his blessings. Nothing points out how low the media has stooped than last Saturday night's White House correspondence dinner as WHCD leftist comedian Michelle Wolf trashed Sara Huckabee Sanders' appearance and job performance, mocked Kellyanne Conway, and took cheap shots at Ivanka Trump (among others), but especially at Donald Trump. Amidst the vulgarity, disrespect, unacceptable behavior, and below the belt hits, some of the White House staffers, among others, walked out. Some Sunday morning talk show commentators said they understood why President Trump didn't attend, and Chris Wallace followed with saying, "I'm glad I didn't." When did this kind of crude behavior become acceptable to anyone in this country? This was not done in the name of fun. This event was way beyond a

roast. I've always had respect for Sara Sanders, but I have to say what kept her from walking out is beyond my comprehension. I congratulate her for her professionalism. I would like to think I could be that strong. And of course the extreme liberal celebrities had to add their two cents by accusing Washington of being thin skinned. I personally would call Michelle Wolf 's performance X-rated and 150% unacceptable. Moving on to North Korea, President Donald Trump said over the weekend, "Plans for the North Korean Summit are going well." The relationship between Trump and Kim Jong-un has come a long way, to the point the North Korean leader is talking about reuniting families that have been separated for years with the division on the Korean Peninsula. No matter whether you like Trump or not, he is responsible for bringing forth the meeting and signing of a commitment for peace between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean leader Moon Jae-in. That set bold goals: A final peace and no nuclear arms. Looking back, our leaders have had problems with North Korea for decades, and justifiably so. As I said last week, Trump is the first U.S. President who has had a positive conversation with a North Korean leader for 60 years, leading to the possibility of peace.
Trump's goal is to denuclearize North Korea and restore peace. If he accomplishes this, it will be a historic accomplishment. Yet with all that said, I don't think anyone in the Trump administration is going into the Trump-Kim summit "starry eyed." And let me assure you, the fact remains I'm the first one to say, "Let's not normalize Kim Jong-un. However, I can hope and pray there will be peace between North and South Korea. Some say it won't happen, and possibly they're right. But the same was said about the Berlin Wall that divided East and West Germany for almost 30 years. We a l l r e m e m b e r President Ronald Reagan's famous statement in 1987 during one of his cold war speeches. Reagan challenged Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down" the Berlin Wall, a symbol of the repressive Communist era that divided Germany. And it came to pass. Last and certainly the least — yes you read correctly, THE LEAST — is the liberals' fair haired darling, former FBI Director (20132017) James Comey and his book that I said a few weeks ago should be called The Bad Cop. I've renamed it The Book of Lies. The only people that will buy this book — which in my opinion, money was his sole purpose for writing — are the Trump haters. I find this ironic because they are the
Wednesday, May 2, 2018 same people who blame Comey for Hillary Clinton's loss in 2016 to Trump. I watched Comey on Meet the Press Sunday morning. His responses to questions on the Trump Presidency and the Russian Investigation consisted of: "I can't answer that." "I don't know." "I know it could have changed." "I don't think I can talk about it. "That's a great question." I didn't know I knew the first of October, but I knew on October 17." "I know it could have changed." "Anyone in the FBI that knows what's going on isn't talking." But the best one was when he was asked, "Why didn't your antenna go up with Anthony Wiener and the Hillary Clinton emails?" There was no answer. He avoided the question. And the very best part was when asked about the credibility of the President, he pointed out in so many words the value of the Presidency. This comes from a former FBI Director that gave his "notes" from meetings with the President to a friend, knowing full well they would be given to the press (the New York Times). Rest assured, I won't be buying his book. Leaving you with this: The Senate confirmed Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State after a contentious nomination fight. Just think, Kerry and Clinton passed easily. It shows you it's a sign of the times. Hopefully, he'll move ahead successfully. The Iran nuclear deal deadline is May 12. Food for thought: To date, Trump has made no decision. In a recent survey, 78% of U.S. citizens think the Republicans and Democrats should work together. Only 19% think they do! Until next week. John Cavaletto. “There were Legionnaires from E f f i n g h a m , O l n e y, McLeansboro, Springfield, Lemont, and Chicago. We can all be proud of the huge impact of the G.I. Bill of Rights was ‘born’ at the Luther B. Easley Post 128 right here in Salem, Illinois,” commented American Legion Post 128 C o m m a n d e r Ha r o l d Kocher. “Every year we can remind people that Legion members from both here and around the state were instrumental in getting this idea off the ground. The Facts About Childhood Asthma

ifficulty breathing can be a terrifying experience for anyone, and especially for parents watching their children suffer. People experience breathing issues due to weather, allergies or illness. But for children and adults who have asthma, breathing troubles can be a regular occurrence.
The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology says children who have recurrent wheezing, chest tightness, cough, or shortness of breath may have one or more forms of asthma. Asthma can make it challenging to breathe and typically occurs when the lungs swell, fill with mucus and airways become

their ability to see. While certain conditions may occur suddenly, others develop more gradually and may not even be noticeable until the problem has progressed significantly. Cataract is a common vision problem that is often associated with aging. The National Eye Institute says that, by age 80, more than half of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery. Prevent Blindness America says there are more cases of cataracts worldwide than there are of glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy combined. The American Optometric Association defines a cataract as a cloudy or opaque area in the normally clear lens of the eye. Depending on its size, cataracts can interfere with normal vision. the wheezing and coughing that occurs during an attack. Long-term medications help with internal inflammation. Inhalers and nebulizers are commonly used to deliver asthma medications. ACAAI says that most asthma medications are considered safe when used as directed. In addition to medications, asthma patients are advised to get flu immunizations, avoid allergy triggers and routinely wash their hands to avoid colds and other respiratory illnesses. With accurate diagnosis and treatment, children with asthma can live healthy lives that include physical activity. Schoolaged children can control symptoms both at home and at school with the help of parents and school administrators.
over the age of 55. A cataract can be present in one or both eyes. The lens is responsible for helping to focus light or an image on the retina. In a healthy lens, fluid and protein is arranged in a precise way that keeps the lens clear, offers NEI. However, as one ages, the protein may clump together and start to cloud a small area of the lens. Over time, this clouding may grow. Researchers also suspect there are other causes to cataracts, such as smoking or diabetes. In addition, wear and tear on the lens can develop into cataract clouding. Significant alcohol consumption, UV radiation, eye surgery, and high myopia also may contribute to cataract formation. All About Vision says the types of cataracts include: • Subcapsular cataract, which occurs at the back of the lens; • Nuclear cataract, which forms deep in the central zone of the lens; and • Cortical cataract, which starts as white opacities in the periphery of the lens and then grows inward. The Mayo Clinic advises that there are no known methods to prevent cataracts or slow their progression. But choosing a healthy diet full of antioxidants, quitting bad habits like smoking, managing diabetes, and having regular eye examinations can help. It’s also a good idea to wear sunglasses that block against UVA and UVB light when outdoors. Cataracts can cause blurring of vision and even make it difficult to see in bright conditions. Colors may seem faded, night vision may be adversely affected and glare may be problematic. The AOA says that early cataracts typically are not treated and changes to prescriptions may provide temporary visual improvement. If a cataract progresses to the point that it affects one’s ability to perform everyday tasks, surgery in which an artificial lens replaces the natural lens may be necessary. Learn more about cataracts by visiting www.nei. nih.gov, www.aoa.org, or www.allaboutvision.com.

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Don’t waste your time and energy fretting over remarks you consider unnecessary or unkind. Best advice: Ignore them, and just keep doing your usual good job. TAURUS (April 20 to May 20) Getting that new perspective on a workplace situation could lead to a solution everyone will accept. Meanwhile, make time to keep up with your creative pursuits. GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) Those changes you planned to implement in early summer might need to be reassessed. But don’t make any moves until you’ve discussed this with someone you trust. CANCER (June 21 to July 22) Your aspects favor harmony, making this a good time to work out problems in relationships -- whether personal or professional, big or small. An old friend comes back. Could be that you’ll need to do a little cat-napping to restore your spent energies. VIRGO (August 23 to September 22) An unexpected development creates a lot of excitement. What a switch, from southern to Mexican, both delicious! I love Mexican food, especially tacos, which seems to be many Americans' favorite. However, instead of calling for the traditional hard shell taco, use fresh flour tortillas just for a change. It's different but so good and easier to eat. Fold in one end to keep all the goodness inside. Go ahead and enjoy!
