MILAN BY CRISTINA PARODI
Cristina Parodi
From journalism to fashion
Cristina Parodi lives in Milan with her Brand CRIDA located in the Showroom in via Marcona, and a corner at the Rinascente, but notwithstanding she is living in Bergamo, she has always loved the Lombard capital. Indeed, she started here her long and important journalist carrier before dedicating to fashion.
“Milan is also the city of youth, university, living together with friends, the beginning of independence. The city of breakfasts at Taveggia, aperitifs at the San Lorenzo columns, the nights at Plastic… I remember this time with tenderness and joy but without regrets. Now I come to Milan for work, and I obviously live it in a different way, even if some heart locations are still here”.
Which ones?
The Basilica di San Lorenzo, for example. I got my degree in Lombard History of Art and my thesis regarded the dome by Martino Bassi, who rebuilt it after fire. I always like to rediscover the Museo Poldi
Pezzoli and admire the new architecture of districts like City Life, Garibaldi, Piazza Gae Aulenti, and the Bosco Verticale. I believe that Milan, except of the pandemic, is a constantly evolving city that gives us an extraordinary energy.
Your leisure times?
I like shopping out of the ‘fashion district’: in corso Garibaldi, for example, where there are many interesting boutiques like Milaura, la Milanesa and Le Nome with its wonderful, personalised baskets. Plus, I love Madame Pauline Vintage, in Foro Bonaparte, where Alessandro, the owner, makes unbelievable research and I know that there I can found unique and special items.
And at night?
I seldom remain in Milan, but if it happens, I like to dine at Langosteria, or at Arlati due to its special riso al salto: that is Milan too!
