WHY REDESIGN

PROPOSAL

1. UNDERMINED WATER FEATURE (INVISIBLE/ HIDDEN BEHIND BUILT MASS / CONCRETE SEATING)

1. FEATURE MADE VISIBLE USING SERIES OF VIVID PATTERNS AND TEXTURES HIGHTING THE MOVEMENT AND DYNAMICS OF WATER

2. NON FUNCTION WATER FEATURE (AESTHETIC PURPOSE ONLY) 3. WATER IS NOT CELEBRATED WELL (UNDERSIZED WATER JETS)

2. FUNCTIONAL CUM AESTHETIC FEATURE. NATURAL TREATMENT OF WATER AS IT PASSES THROUGH RAIN GARDEN (TREATMENT SUBSTRATE) AND ALSO BRINGING THE WATER FROM STORM DRAINAGE ON SURFACE. 3. ARRAY OF EXPERIENCIAL MOMENTS ALONG THE CREEK

CURRENT MACRO WATER SYSTEM PROPOSAL - CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM RUN OFF CATCH BASINS EXISTING STORM WATER CHANNEL

SECTION SHOWING SYSTEM DESIGN

OR CAN BE REUSED IN THE BUILDING AFTER FUTHER TREATMENT

SYSTEM : NATURAL WATER TREATMENT WHY SYSTEM CHANGE ?

CURRENT WATER FEATURE IS AN ORNAMENTAL, NON FUNCTIONAL WATER FEATURE, WHICH MEANS THAT ALL THE RAIN WATER RECEIVED ON CAMPUS IS DISPOSED OFF INTO THE STORM WATER DRAINAGE CHANNELS.

PROPOSAL : WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

THE CREEK PROPOSED ADDRESSES THE FUNCTION OF COLLECTING RAIN WATER IN PONDS. THE WATER THEN FLOWS THROUGH RAIN GARDENS (A LARGE GRAVEL AND SAND FILLED CHANNEL THAT IS PLANTED WITH AQUATIC VEGETATION) THE FILTER MEDIA FILTERS OUT PARTICLES AND PATHOGENS ARE DESTROYED. THIS WATER CAN THEN BE USED FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSE AND IF ADDITIONAL TREATMENT POSSIBLE, THEN CAN ALSO BE REUSED IN HOUSEHOLDS AS NON POTABLE WATER. THUS FORMING A CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM.
