HEALTH
CONCERNS.
3.2
Approximately 3.2 days, per worker, per year are lost to workplace stress.
DAYS
62 %
Of Lost Time Injury (LTI) are due to strain and sprain. Of these, nearly 50% relate to the lower back.
BILLIONS of dollars have been spent on health care and health insurance.

HEAL : A REGENERATIVE
PATH TO SUSTAINABILITY. MULTIPLE GOALS
Healthier buildings > Healthier mind sets > inculcates ethics and values > Healthier systems

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
BEYOND SITE PRECINTS
PLACE BASED SOLUTION Place based data resource: Automatic generation of region specific health data for enabling user decisions.
•
Recognizing the uniqueness of the place to develop projects that contribute to the wellbeing of the whole.
•
Fostering a more informed story of a place that helps to shift the consciousness of the community :
•
Promoting active health regime beyond site precincts to outreach the neighboring community.
•
REPLICABILITY
Widening the boundary focus from its site/ shell to wider systems turning dead system to community:
•
Promoting awareness of Healthier diet intake through on site organic farming and engaging the neighbourhood to get trained and practice farming.
•
A catalyst that becomes a systemic change:
FEEDBACK LOOPS Pre and Post occupancy surveys are prerequisites of tool to evaluate the efficiency and health of the systems.
USERS OF HEAL.
ARCHITECTS
HEAL 1.0
TENANTS
Values and ethic that will influence architect in their design decision. It becomes a contributor as to how architect works out his relations with client.
Mainstream, non-technical real estate audience who are rightly eager to understand the benefits of greener and healthier buildings.
STAKEHOLDERS
Opportunities of achieving health and productivity in a workplace. It will lead them to develop better, more consistent data and informed evidences for investments and design decisions.
FRAMEWORK OF HEAL This proposal is a way for users of a space to directly engage with the agenda, using simple framework for measuring the health improvement ‘outcome’ and what physical features should be incorporated for a healthy building and environment. It consists of three levels that derive visible connections , relationships and flows between different elements of the system across scales. The evaluation is based on impact of the positive and negative interactions between elements , which gets reflected through change in size of the health issues.
