Obituary
In the Settlement of Conch Sound, on the Island of Andros, on the 28th day of February 1948 a bouncing baby girl named Ola Elizabeth Fowler was born to the parentage of the late Elmore and Julia Fowler. Ola’s life was marked by grace and a profound sense of purpose.
At the age of five, her parents, relocated to Nassau. Ola attended St Francis School on West Hill Street, She later went to live with her brother in Boston, Massachusetts where she completed her High School education.
Ola continued her education where she graduated from La Newton School of Beauty Culture, Boston, Mass, And Smith’s College, New Providence.
To equip herself for the Ministry, she attended the Bahamas Baptist Institute and Covington Theological Seminary. To further develop herself for service in master’s vineyard she enrolled in many courses in theology including Child Evangelism, Ola also participated in several workshops and seminars at home and abroad.
Upon her return home Ola worked at Loews Hotel, Paradise Island for many years. She later moved on to British American Insurance Company. After retiring from British American at a young age she became an entrepreneur opening up her clothing business, her taxi service, and finally working as a lunch vendor selling lunch to the taxi drivers.
Ola became the proud mother of her daughter Ulisa.
Ola, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, joined the New Covenant Church family in 1986 after visiting for the very first time.
She realized that God had a call on her life, to be more than an bench warmer, so she left her previous church and became a member of this ministry.
Ola, was a committed Christian who believed in helping and uplifting others. She realized that her ministry was not confined to the four walls of the church, but on the field.
Evangelist Fowler has served in various ministries, including the Prayer Ministry and the Benevolent Prayer Group. She also served as President of the Singles Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Counselor, member of the Family Life Ministry, the Evangelism Team and Women’s Fellowship.
Evangelist Ola travel to many of the Family Islands on mission proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Two of Ola’s favorite scriptures are: “That I may know Him in the power of His resurrection”
“I will bless the Lord at all times, His praises shall continually be in my mouth”
Evangelist Ola greatest desire was to be a bold and faithful witness and win souls for the Kingdom of God.
Evangelist Ola experienced multiple health challenges in her Christian walk, but she was convinced that almighty God had called, appointed, and anointed her for such a time.
On Sunday morning November 17th, 2024, at 4:45am at her daughter’s residence in Long Island, Evangelist Ola transitioned from time to eternity very peacefully in her sleep. She is now with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, king of kings, and Lord of Lords.

CONGREGATION HYMN | How Great Thou Art
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
(Chorus)
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
And when I think of Go d his son not sparing Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

CONGREGATIONAL HYMN | It’s Alright Now
There was a time I travelled a lonely sinful road; Beneath a heavy burden bending low; But now all things are different, since Jesus took my load It’s alright now, I’m His I know.
(Chorus)
It’s alright now, for I am in my Saviour’s care It’s alright now; my Saviour hears and answers prayer He’ll walk with me, (He’ll walk beside me) Till I climb the heavenly stair, And everything (And everything is alright now)
And down a lonely pathway, without a friend to guide, I walked in sin and sorrow all alone ‘Till Jesus came and found me, and drew me to His side; It’s alright now, for I’m His own.
No more in sin I wander, no more in darkness roam The Lord has placed my feet on higher ground; Each day new heights I’m gaining, my soul is nearing home, It’s alright now, I’m heaven bound.

RECESSIONAL HYMN | Glad Reunion Day
There will be a happy meeting in heaven I know When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below. Gather on the blessed hilltops with hearts all aglow. That will be a glad reunion day.
(Chorus)
Glad day, a wonderful day, Glad day, a glorious day; There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay, That will be a glad reunion day.
There within the holy city we’ll sing and rejoice, Praising Christ the blessed Saviour with heart and with voice. Tell him how we came to love Him and make Him our choice. That will be a glad reunion day.
When we live a million years in that wonderful place Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face. It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace. That will be glad reunion day.
TRIBUTE TO MY SISTER
The loss of my beloved sister weighs heavily on my heart. Our memories are countless. I miss her so much and things will never be the same without her. I love you Ola. It was and will always be me and you against the world; that was our special expression. I cannot explain the loving power we have for each other. Ola, I will always love you.
You were my closest confidant, my beloved best friend. We were two peas in a pod. We slept together, we laugh together, we worshipped together, we travelled together, we shopped together, and we fought together. I was always bigger than you, and I always felt that I had to take care of you, because you were smaller in size. Now, I have no one to protect and I do not know what I am going to do without you Ola.
My sister, I love you so much. But Jesus loves you the best. Sleep on my darling sister and take your rest.
From your loving sister, Rosa
TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED MOTHER
It’s an honour to celebrate the incredible life of my mother. She was not just my mom; she was my inspiration. Through her, I learned never to give up just because something is hard and that whatever I dream can become a reality. She showed me the true meaning of resilience and unconditional love.
As a single mother, she devoted her life to giving me the best possible future. She worked tirelessly, taking classes to improve her skills and excelling in every job she held. Her determination, work ethic and motivation were unmatched and she always strove for excellence no matter the task.
She loved life and embraced every moment, often traveling to places she could only dream of as child. When I asked her if there was anything in her life she would change, she always said: “God has been good to me, Lisa and I’ve lived a good life”. It’s hard to summarize such a remarkable life in just a few words. Mom’s journey was filled with struggles, yet she carried herself with self-sacrifice, grace, humility, and strength. She overcame adversity, achieved success in every endeavour and left a legacy of love, wisdom and perseverance. Though it is difficult to say goodbye, I take comfort in knowing that you lived a life full of purpose, fulfillment and love. You are now at peace, receiving the crown you so well deserved.
Your daughter, ULisa
TRIBUTE TO AUNTY OLA
Aunty Ola, you left a mark in our hearts, and nothing will ever fill that void. Your death is indelible in our hearts. You were a true gem and unique. We will cherish and remember you. Surely, Aunty Ola our love will forever linger in our hearts. Aunty, you are now safely in the hands of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Love Always, Iva & Alexander
TRIBUTE TO OUR AUNT
As we honour and celebrate the life of our beloved aunt, who has left us far too soon, we find comfort in the countless memories that define her remarkable life.
Throughout her life, Aunty Ola embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and passion. She had a love for travel that inspired those around her to appreciate the beauty of life. Her and Aunt Rosa would explore the world and tell us stories and experiences painted a vivid picture of a life well-lived.
Though we will miss her dearly, we take solace in the fact that her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts. We find comfort in knowing that everything she shared with us transcends time and space, and it will remain a part of who we are.
You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and your memory will be cherished for years to come. Take your eternal rest.
Love Rudy, Marilyn and Joycelyn
TRIBUTE TO GRAMMY
TRIBUTE TO AUNT OLA
Today, we honour and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, our beloved. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her- she had a way of making everyone special, loved, and supported. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering strength were a guiding light in our lives. Aunt Ola had a heart full of love and a smile that could brighten any room. Whether she was offering words of encouragement, or simply being there, she made an unforgettable impact. Her memory will forever live in our hearts. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy continues through the love she gave and lessons she shared. We will miss her deeply but take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in each of us. Rest peacefully, Aunt Ola. You will always be loved and never forgotten. From Marion and Donald Rolle
Some of my fondest memories of my grammy was how she always took me under her wing. She was my shield and light in the dark. When I was going through my divorce and troubles with my mother, she got me a therapist and the only thing I had to worry about getting better. My grammy loves to eat healthy. I enjoyed watching my grammy cook her favourite meals. They were turkey souse, peas and rice, occasionally, and pasta. The love she had for pasta was so great she would put it in her turkey souse.
On June 20, 2011, Christinque Precious was born making my grammy a great grandmother. She adored Christinque. Babysitting Christinque on many occasions to give her the nickname “Mama”. Her second great grandchild Christopher Stefon was born on November 22, 2016. She was once again a proud great grandmother, she loved, cared and shared her time with both of her grandbabies. I was blessed with my third child, Gabrielle Zahra on August 4, 2023. Unfortunately, at this time, my grammy’s health was deteriorating. In my heart, I knew the person my grammy was, she would have loved and cared for Gabrielle the same.
Grammy, you were a warrior. You will forever be missed. I will take your teachings and guidance and imbed them into my children and follow them for the rest of my life. I will love you forever and always.
Your granddaughter, Precious
A TRIBUTE TO TITTA OLA
As I sit and ponder what my last words will be to you. I can’t help but to cry, but I can hear you say “it’s ok, push through”. A woman full of wisdom, class and grace; that’s not afraid of speaking the truth to your face.
You’ve taught me so much, secrets that I will always treasure, things of life, love and God, that no amount of gold can measure. In my eyes, you’ve completed your heavenly father’s request, now he’s called you home, to receive your divine rest.
Just want to say thank you for the time we shared and all the memories; and when you speak to our God, please remember me. This is not goodbye, just a simple “see you later” to the most kind-hearted woman I know, that is back with her creator.
Love always, Tasha and Ricka
A COUSIN’S TRIBUTE
‘My good cousin’...these simple words convey the depth of love, respect and joy Ola and I had for each other.
With extreme thoughtfulness and a deep appreciation for our shared heritage of our ancestral home we both emulated the swagging pride of the ‘big yard’...Andros!
Selfless and generous, Ola shared everything from advice to peas n’ rice. She was always generous with her compliments and never hesitated to glory in any family members’ success and achievements.
Her presence at family socials slowed down some as the health challenges became REAL, nevertheless her eyes still shone with anticipation and joy that she was surrounded by loved ones!
Ola was grateful for life. We are grateful that she has been in our lives! Rest in peace, my good cousin. May you rise in glory! Your cousin Jeanie
