A REWARDING EXPERIENCE It’s hard to believe my term as President will come to a close in a few short months. While it's not possible to list all the advancements made in the last three years, some highlights include the opening of the JCC Annex, home to our new Food Bank managed by our VTEC youth; the renovation of the multipurpose room known as the “library”; the addition of new classrooms and offices; and the enhancement of security through significant government grants and capital fundraising. Membership grew past 3,000 units - the first time in our history. Our Randie Waldbaum Malinsky Center for Israel now serves 45 Synagogues, Hillels, and JCC’s, while our Nancy Marx Cancer Wellness Center expanded its services for those diagnosed with cancer and their families. Of course, let’s not forget our multitude of cultural arts programs, filled with noteworthy and often sold-out events. Look through these pages and you’ll get a good idea as to our quality programs and services. We continue to expand as we look to serve both those in need and those who want. Serving as President, aka Chief Volunteer of the JCC, has been a most rewarding experience. The best part has been working with 35 dedicated and supportive members of the board, a hard-working and passionate senior team led by our esteemed Executive Director, David Black, a devoted staff of hundreds whose mission is to enrich all our lives, and thousands of donors who care enough about the community to assure our success. I look forward to remaining on the board and to many more years of enjoying all that the JCC has to offer. I thank each and every one of you for your commitment to making Sid Jacobson JCC the premier full service JCC on Long Island’s North Shore.

Jodi Rosenthal, President YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS! Proceeds from Eat. Bid. Laugh! benefit the Sheldon A. Sinett BASICS Fund. BASICS, Building and Supporting Initial Community Social Services, is maintained as an incubator fund for new and innovative social service programs brought to life by the groundbreaking work of SJJCC staff. Over the last 14 years, BASICS has subsidized over 70 crucial programs impacting thousands in our community who need us the most. Throughout these pages you will find grey boxes that denote a BASICS funded initiative that is either new or self sustaining!
