VIEWING, UPDATING, & REPORTING SERVICE HOURS THROUGH THE SAE PORTAL (FOR
MEMBERS)
A primary value that we share as members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the importance of service. Reporting service hours and events is now available to report through The SAE Portal. The primary way service hours is reported is throught the chapter’s Service & Philanthropy Chairman (S&P Chairman) or chapter officers. They can add events and chapter members to the events, making reporting your chapters’ service hours much easier. Members can also view, update, and report their service hours to ensure that their hours are being recorded accurately from structured chapter service events. Members can also add their own personal service hours if they provide service outside of chapter-structured Service Events.
1. Log into The SAE Portal.
2. Select your Chapter in the upper right corner.
3. Select the Service Tile.
4. You will be directed to this page.
5. Click on the “My Service Hours History” tile to view your reported service hours.
6. On this page, you have your personalized dashboard with your reported service hours. This is an essential function because if you want to see if you were added to a service event by your S&P Chairman, you can check here rather than filter through all of the chapter members on the chapter dashboard. You can also come here anytime to track and ensure you obtain a minimum of 20 service hours per year.
7. Click the back button in the top left corner to return to the main landing page. Click on the “Track My Service Hours for Existing Event” tile.
8. You will utilize this feature if you need to add your hours for a certain service event if your S&P Chairman forgot or asks you to add your own after they create the event. You will select the “Service Event” drop-down and select the event. You will then type in the number of hours you completed for that event and hit submit to record your hours.
We encourage you to contact the Fraternity Service Center (contact@sae.net) if you need additional assistance with reporting your service hours and events. You and your chapter must utilize this feature in The Portal so that you have all of your chapter’s information in one centralized location and so the Fraternity Service Center can highlight the fantastic work your chapter is doing!
