Thinking about starting a career in iGaming but unsure where to start?

Most people don’t realise what a powerful career choice iGaming can be. The assumption many make is that working in iGaming is only for those who want to work in the casino industry. Although, of course, it is a great starting point for those people as well, iGaming is an overlooked opportunity to boost a multitude of different types of careers.

There are many benefits to iGaming: it requires very little experience to start with, it has the potential to move up the ranks quickly, it pays well, and it can be incredibly rewarding! Not only are the people that work in iGaming some of the kindest and most passionate people you’ll meet, but they’re also a very diverse pool of workers that have so much knowledge to share. There are many facets to the industry that can educate you about almost any skill you desire, as long as you put effort into pursuing it and especially if you find a mentor who will give you an extra helping hand.

This is particularly true of the many startup companies that have arisen in iGaming. Startups often have a small pool of employees, which makes for more of a “community” feeling, but with more of a demanding workload as well. Although this can be stressful at times, it will encourage and challenge you to grow in ways you might never have expected. You may be asked to fill multiple roles in these smaller companies as they find their footing, learn the market, and eventually add employees to the team. This exciting environment is the perfect place to gain a great deal of resume-building experience and try out many areas of interest.

Meanwhile, larger, stock-listed companies are a bit harder to break into. And, once you do, it will be more challenging to rise through the ranks. Your career within the business will be more focused and less demanding overall, additionally, it will likely be more secure, as a larger company will not face as many challenges and will be more solid in the market compared to a start-up.

Los juegos de azar tienen muchas ventajas: requieren muy poca experiencia, tienen el potencial de ascender rápidamente, están bien pagados y pueden resultar muy gratificantes. Las personas que trabajan en el sector del juego son las más amables y apasionadas que te puedes encontrar y además son un grupo muy diverso de trabajadores con mucho conocimiento. Hay muchas facetas de la industria que pueden enseñarte casi cualquier habilidad que quieras, siempre que te esfuerces en conseguirlo y, especialmente, si encuentras un mentor que ayude.

Este es el caso de las numerosas empresas emergentes que han surgido en el sector del juego. Las startups suelen tener un grupo reducido de empleados, lo que hace que haya más sensación de "comunidad", pero también una carga de trabajo más exigente. Aunque a veces puede ser estresante, te animará y te desafiará a crecer de una manera que nunca hubieras esperado. En estas empresas más pequeñas, es posible que te pidan que desempeñes varias funciones mientras se afianzan, aprenden el mercado y acaban añadiendo empleados al equipo. El entorno es el lugar perfecto para adquirir experiencia y probar diferentes áreas que te interesen.

En cambio, las empresas más grandes que cotizan en bolsa son lugar un poco más difícil para abrirse paso. Y, una vez que lo hagas, será más difícil ascender en el escalafón. Tu carrera dentro de la empresa estará más centrada y será menos exigente largo de varios años, probé a trabajar en distintos departamentos de varias empresas y conseguí una base de conocimientos muy completa que podía aplicar no solo al iGaming, sino a casi todo. Desde habilidades de atención al cliente hasta cómo aplicar las críticas y los comentarios, la importancia de una curiosidad natural, el conocimiento de los aspectos técnicos, el marketing y mucho más. Me sentía preparada para salir al mundo y empezar a construir mi propio camino con todo lo que sabía.

Y eso es lo que hice. Mi socio y yo pusimos en marcha nuestra propia empresa de marketing de afiliación llamada AFFCOOL LTD, que pretende conectar a los jugadores de todo el mundo con del poder de las redes sociales y el SEO. Me encanta mi trabajo y, en parte, le debo mi éxito a lo que he aprendido del iGaming.

Del mismo modo, he visto a muchos otros tener éxito en sus propias carreras y negocios gracias a lo que han aprendido con el iGaming. Tanto si quieres trabajar redactando en general, probablemente será más segura, dado que una empresa más grande no se enfrentará a tantos retos y será más sólida en el mercado en comparación con una startup.

Mi carrera personal en el sector de los juegos de azar comenzó en una empresa más grande, en la que trabajé con clientes de casinos de mucho valor sin experiencia ni conocimientos previos, pero con ganas de aprender todo lo que pudiera sobre el sector. Los mentores y líderes que me rodeaban me animaban a asumir nuevos retos y oportunidades. A lo contenido, marketing, diseño de juegos, atención al cliente o cualquier campo, el iGaming te puede enseñar lo que necesitas saber para empezar. Por eso, cuando alguien me pregunta por mi experiencia con el iGaming o le da curiosidad el sector, siempre le digo que vaya a por todas. Nunca se sabe adónde te llevará, qué te enseñará o qué te inspirará a hacer.

El iGaming no es solo una trayectoria ascendente, sino un camino abierto que puede guiarte hacia direcciones ilimitadas en función de lo que desees obtener de él y hacia dónde quieras ir.

My own career in iGaming started in a larger company, where I worked with high-value casino customers with no prior experience or knowledge, but I was eager to learn everything I could about the industry.

I found myself surrounded and encouraged by my mentors and leaders to take on new challenges and opportunities.

Over several years, I tried working in a variety of different departments for various companies and achieved a wellrounded foundation of skills that I could apply, not just to iGaming, but to almost anything. From customer service skills to how to apply criticism and feedback, the importance of a natural curiosity, knowledge of technical aspects, marketing, and more. I felt ready to jump into the real world and forge my own path with so many new capabilities tucked under my belt.

And I did exactly that. My partner and I launched our own affiliate marketing company called AFFCOOL LTD, which seeks to connect gamers across the globe through the power of social media and SEO. I love my job and I partially owe my success to what I have learned from iGaming!
