We see Go and tea sets on your desk, which seems to be at odds with the AI development you are promoting. Can you elaborate? On the contrary, this represents what I consider the most important link in intelligent development. The Go board displays the 2016 World Champion’s match against AlphaGO, the only game humans won before never winning again. It symbolises a transformation and a warning to us to always be vigilant about whether our current development and achievements might become obsolete, to find the true core values of the enterprise, and the right direction. Eventually, anything inefficient will be sublimated into art and lifestyle, just like brewing tea. It’s an environment for exchanging ideas between people, a way to cultivate trust. In the end, all intelligence development must return to serving people and the trust between them. Therefore, nurturing the humanities within the team is also what I value, experiencing the more eternal values in a constantly changing world. How has your leadership style impacted the success of K36? We are convinced that the fusion of science and aesthetics is a key force for success, playing a crucial role in propelling our innovation and development. Creativity is an essential element in this process, and aside from the engineers’ usual exploration of new technologies, we also focus on the cultivation of art and culture, allowing endusers to have a more touching experience and to integrate exceptional works with game developers. Our team is more like the architects of the iGaming world, creating luxurious casinos in the minds of customers. If we go to Vegas, we can often see many top things gathered there, many new AI technologies combined with classic art, moving our experience. That’s the direction we strive for, to create touching platforms for operators in the virtual world. What is your view on the future of AI? AI is the most important issue of 2023. It has been in the past, but this year is special because productivity has greatly increased. We went all-in on AI development in March this year, reinvesting 15-30% of corporate revenue into AI research. The development of intelligence affects not just this industry but more broadly the next era for humanity. From the perspective of industrial revolutions, it took humanity 80 years to move through the steam era of the first industrial revolution, 40 years to transition into the era of electricity in the second, another 40 years to enter the computer age in the third, and we are now 20 years into the internet age, the fourth
revolution. Following this pattern, the next 20 years should usher us into the fifth industrial revolution – the AI era. There’s a lot to be done in the AI era, especially in the software development industry, almost all professions can combine with AI, and I believe that in the future, programming will be simplified to the point that nonengineers can complete it. In this future, every professional could become a semiengineer, as naturally as modern individuals use computers and smartphones. This evolution will lead to a comprehensive upgrade in productivity roles. Full-time engineers will evolve into higher-tier researchers, logistics units will gain more time for contemplation and optimization, and sales personnel will concentrate on fostering trust in human relationships. In the AI era, there’s a lot of false information being passed around, and face-to-face interactions become more important. We focus on productivity upgrades and also on the cultivation of sales, facing the future of AI. Has AI development brought changes to team building and management? Indeed, in the process of our vigorous reform of intelligent development, there will be a sense of job insecurity among professionals. For this, we have provided a promotion system, the “Junior Labor Liberation Plan”, which successfully disbanded two departments.
