No prints. No colors (except for navy). No fun. Of course, that’s not the case for self-described minimalists, but to women who like a little bit of oooh! in their outfits, min imalism can seem like a fancy word for “boring.” Not so fast: Minimalism has a Monet effect, in that it might look simple at first glance, but there’s a world of things to examine upon closer inspection. From clever cuts to lovely construction, minimal

fashion doesn’t give it all away immediately, which pro tipmakes minimal fashion people some of the most low-key awesome people to strike up a conversation with. If you don’t have a dinner party full of women dressed in sculptural black cotton-poplin tops and Japanese trousers coming up, this slide show should give you enough material to lift from. Last week, 7115 by Szeki released the final wave of her spring collection and it is so good. So with that, I wanted to share a couple of images I of my favorite pieces from her line, including the newly launch Capelet dress. I love the way that Szeki designs with quality and time lessness in mind, while still making sure to not lose any of the interesting detailing that makes her line so truly unique. I know I will be wearing her pieces all summer long.

ALL ABOUT STYLE

MINIMALISM Minimalism in fashion may be identified via visual codes; commonly, clean lines, simple forms and a rationing of colour. However, the aesthetic aspects of minimalism are really byproducts of an approach toward life. It’s impossible to talk about sartorial minimalism as being divorced from the context of life and attitude. However, the minimalism code is by its nature a very per sonal one that means something different to everyone. While minimalism for me is expressed through a neutral colour palette, that does not mean that someone who wears colour cannot also be a minimalist.

LUXE HAIR ELEMENT

Keeping hair out of the face, just as quick and no fuss as your regular old ponytail. Except it adds a little luxe element to my sweatshirt-hoodie days without wearing any jewelry. Function in the form of this simple metal plate. Folding (short) hair upwards and clipping it down, using it for a ponytail as a subtitute of an elastic or securing a bun with it – I almost forgot how versatile and elegant a basic hair barette can be.

FACE CONFETTI

Still holding on to some of the shiny, silver, left over confetti from New Year’s Eve by finding new applications for it: glueing it on my face together with a minimum amount of make up and a nude matte lipstick. Perfect for a night out, if you’re like me and not very much into eyeshadows./ After adding a bit of glue, carefully put them in place with tweezers.The only glue I had at hand was a regular pritt stick for paper. It did the job, didn’t irritate the skin and washed right off with water. Proper glue for applying faux lashes would probably be better though, if you have it on hand.

In their new Minneapolis studio space founder Lisa Hackwith works designing and producing weekly capsule collections of limited edition pieces. Lisa also works in collaboration with small retailers across the country creating exclusive collections for each. In a sea of mass produced fashion the Hack with Design House philosophy is that of unique designer produced pieces priced within reach.
