A HEALTHY REAL ESTATE MARKET So long summer, hello FALL! Everyone loves the change of seasons, and what better time to make a move than the next few months. If you are considering selling, the fall is an excellent time to list your home. Buyers are out in full force now that summer is over, and with prices still increasing and the demand strong, there may not be a better time to move. Generally, there are fewer homes to compete with during the fall season, serious buyers are still looking, and homes look beautiful during the holiday season. The fall season is full of color and activities on Long Island – from the pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and apple orchards, to the local fairs and hometown football and soccer games. We hope you are enjoying this time with your family and friends and taking advantage of all the beauty that Long Island has to offer. The real estate market on Long Island is healthy. The Multiple Listing Service of Long Island reports the median sale price for residential homes sold in Suffolk County is up 2.5% while Nassau County saw prices increase 1% year-over-year. Pending home sale activity also continued to rise with Suffolk posting a jump of 4% from the previous year, while Nassau saw an increase of 2.6%. As we follow the trends in Long Island real estate, we must make a note of the strength of the entry-level and trade-up markets, as bidding wars and stiff competition continues. The luxury market is not as competitive, but homes continue to sell. One fact remains, if you price your home correctly, the market will react positively... The latest edition of the Signature Premier Properties Market Report is the first nine months of the year comparison of residential sales activity for 2018 and 2019 in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
