Nominations for two District Councils The municipal council of Langanes invites nominations or suggestions for individuals in two district councils. One for Bakkafjörður and the other for a rural area. The councils will be composed of three individuals each and three alternates. District councils operate according to letter of appointment but are intended to advise local authorities on issues concerning Bakkafjörður and the surrounding rural areas. Nominations and suggestions can be made to the office of Langanesbyggð by phone 468-1220, or by email to langanesbyggd@langanesbyggd.is before midnight on January 30th, 2019.
Þorrablót á Þórshöfn 2019 ~ Þórshöfn Midwinter Feast 2019 The Midwinter Feast will be held in Þórshöfn January 26th. The house opens at 19:30 and the program starts at 20:00. Registration forms will be available at Kjörbúðin and with Hafliði in Bakkafjörður. Registration ends on Wednesday, January 23rd. Guests need to bring food from home in troughs, along with cutlery. Water, soft drinks, glasses and plates will be on the tables. Ticket prices: Entertainment + dance 6.000kr.; entertainment only 2.500kr.; dance only 3.500kr. Age limit is 18 years or turning 18 during the year. Tickets are available at the Sports Centre on Saturday from 15:00 – 17:00, during which time guests can bring their troughs. Dinner and entertainment will take place at Sportver Sports Centre, and afterwards we will go to Þórsver for the dance, where the band Bland will play dance music. Those who wish to borrow troughs please contact Alla María at 857-9398.
Announcement from the Equestrian Club Feykir The Annual General Meeting of the Equestrian Club Feykir will be held in the dining hall at Öxarfjörður School on Tuesday, February 5th at 20:00. Traditional annual meeting agenda, including the Report of the Board of Directors, admission / withdrawal of members, overview of accounts, elections and other matters (riding trails, tournaments and social events). We want to especially encourage those who want to join the Club this year or withdraw from it to attend the meeting or contact the Board.
