Summer jobs in research for University students ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Húsavík Academic Centre (HAC) hosts every year research projects that are carried out during the summer in collaboration with university students. The projects are either at the initiative of the Centre and relate to the research that are being continued at the Centre, or projects that the students themselves have initiated. It is common for university students who are away from home to see opportunities in getting acquainted with research in this way, as well as being able to stay at home during the summer. The municipalities in Þingeyjasýslur have supported projects of this kind with a share in financing the wage cost for the students. We encourage interested university students to contact the Húsavík Academic Centre as soon as possible in order to have the opportunity to look for interesting projects for the summer. We would like to note that university students can have work facilities in many areas of the field and projects in different places, such as the Educational Centre in Þórshöfn, The Academic Centre Mikley in Mývatnssveit, where employees of HAC work all year round, or in other places where HAC operates, such as Raufarhöfn, Bakkafjörður, Kópasker, and Laugar.
We would also like to note that part-time work, or work for part of the summer will be considered. Interested parties are to contact Gréta Bergrún and/or Helena Eydís at greta@hac.is or helena@hac.is or phone 464-5100
