SBA Fund: Unrestricted Possibilities

Possibilities

The SBA Fund is our annual giving campaign that helps cover the essential operational costs of our Academy not covered by tuition. Unlike public schools, we receive little to no state or federal government funding, and unlike many religiously affiliated schools, we are not supported by congregational giving.

WHY SHOULD I GIVE?

Like all non-profit, service-based organizations, our operating budget depends upon donations to make ends meet, as tuition levels cannot cover all the expenses of operating the Academy. Giving any amount shows that you believe in the Academy’s vision and want to be a part of ensuring Silverdale’s future.

Your donation will help us become a financially stronger Academy. With student discipleship as our focus alongside robust academic programs, we aim to provide students with the skills they need to become world-changers. Your gift to the SBA Fund is an investment in the successful future of our students and our community.

Tuition alone only covers a percentage of the cost of a Silverdale education.

The SBA Fund helps close that gap.

PARTICIPATION MATTERS 100%

PARTICIPATION

We ask that families make supporting Silverdale a philanthropic priority and give to the best of their abilities on an annual basis. Above all, we strive for 100% participation from current families.

Our community’s collective contributions will provide us with the financial flexibility to enhance our programs and enrich our students’ educational experiences. Annual giving is a critical component of our operating budget, but the impact of your donation does not end there. Before outside donors commit resources to Silverdale, they want to see a fully invested community – one that believes in the school, its values, and its experience. Participation in the SBA Fund is an indicator of our community’s shared commitment to the success and sustainability of Silverdale and sends a powerful message to other donors.

At SBA, we deeply value all voluntary support and the meaningful choice that it represents. Achieving our goals requires gifts of all sizes, and leadership giving is essential to the success of our school. Membership in the SBA Fund recognizes those in our community who will impact Silverdale through their leadership giving.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: WHAT IS THE SBA FUND?

A: The SBA Fund is a fundraising effort that exists to cover the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating a student at Silverdale. Like all private schools, our budget is set so that tuition remains as low as possible. No family pays the full cost of an SBA education. Silverdale seeks 100% participation from all current parents, faculty, staff, and board members. We also seek support from the entire Silverdale community, including alumni families, adult graduates, and grandparents.

Q: WHY NOT JUST RAISE TUITION?

A: Philanthropy is part of Silverdale’s culture. By keeping tuition as financially accessible as possible, we gain a more economically diverse student population which enriches every student’s educational experience. Also, contributions are tax-deductible, whereas tuition payments are not. When you donate to the SBA Fund, you help keep tuition payments lower, and your gift entitles you to a tax benefit.

Q: HOW ARE SBA FUND GIFTS USED?

A: The money donated to the SBA Fund is used to support a portion of operational needs, including hiring and retaining outstanding faculty members, enhancing academic and extracurricular programs, maintaining facilities, and enabling the school to offer financial assistance to families who otherwise would not be able to afford a Silverdale education.

Q: CAN I USE MY EMPLOYER MATCHING FOR THE SBA FUND?

A: Yes! We welcome this opportunity for additional dollars and are prepared to complete the necessary paperwork in order to receive them.

Q: CAN I DESIGNATE MY GIFT TO A SPECIFIC AREA?

A: Yes; however, we ask that SBA Fund gifts be undesignated. This way, they may do the most good for the greatest number of students.

Q: WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER A GIFT TO THE SBA FUND WHEN I ALREADY PAY TUITION?

A: By helping to cover the gap between the price of tuition and what it actually costs to educate each Silverdale student, your gift to the SBA Fund directly influences the educational experience all students have at Silverdale. The availability of more resources equals access to more educational tools and opportunities. Your generous taxdeductible gift allows our students to have the “extras” that turn an excellent education into an exceptional one.

Q: IF MY FAMILY RECEIVES FINANCIAL AID AND I DONATE TO THE SBA FUND, WILL IT AFFECT MY AID?

A: No. There is no correlation. 100% family participation is the goal.

Q: HOW DO I GIVE?
