Tigi
Chara
Adopted from Ethiopia at 18 months. Wants to be a zookeeper when she grows up. She says SBA is a happy place. Mom and Dad chose SBA for the personal and Biblical investment made in every student. They wanted Tigi to be seen as her own little person.
“Raising children is a tough job, but when you have faculty and staff that love yours as if they are their own, you can rest assured that your children are in an environment surrounded by love and family every single day.”
Rob & Donnis
“We know that our children are receiving the finest education and are being taught Christian values. We have been thoroughly impressed by the confident, Christian leadership the Academy provides.”

Preschool We know how important it is to choose a school to partner with you in laying the vital foundation for your child’s education. At Silverdale, we minister to the whole child: spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. We introduce them to the Truth of God’s Word and plant the seeds for their relationship with Jesus Christ. They can experience His love and be encouraged to grow through developmentally appropriate stages, while simultaneously offering a variety of daily activities to satisfy their need for personal achievement and purpose.

Elementary School We believe that education begins in the home and therefore, we are an extension of the lifelong learning of each of our students, with the goal of coming alongside parents in teaching their children in the most learning-conducive, Christian environment possible. Our elementary teachers believe, based on the Charlotte Mason method, that education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life, and a science of relations. With this educational mindset, our elementary students thrive in every aspect of their schooling.

Middle School Middle school is a time of incredible change and challenge as students are in the midst of developing into mature adults in mind, body, and spirit. It is a critical time in the social, spiritual, and educational lives of students, and our middle school faculty embraces this fact. The worldly culture around students encourages them to mature too quickly in some areas while abandoning responsibility and maturity in others. Our faculty takes every opportunity and makes every effort to mentor and guide students with Godly counsel as they walk through these changes.

High School Our high school students are trained to defend their faith and use their Christian worldview to combat opposing worldviews. Indeed, Silverdale is in the top 1% of ACSI-accredited schools in spiritual formation! This Biblical focus and equipping takes place effectively through: • Teachers who serve as a “living curriculum” in the eyes of their students • Classes which teach inductive Bible study and the Christian worldview • Biblical integration which occurs systematically in every subject and class taught in the high school • Service projects and trips where students learn to serve and to consider others as more important than themselves

High School Baptism Chapel Spring 2013
Spiritual Life At Silverdale, the spiritual life of our students is of the highest priority. We aim to incorporate the living Word of God into all that we do, whether in the classroom, on stage, on the playing field, and everywhere in between. Having a personal, vibrant relationship with Christ and living out the Christian walk is also the highest priority of our faculty and staff, because they must be a daily example for our students. Students attend chapel weekly, start classes with prayer, attend Bible study groups, and are encouraged to seek the counsel of their teachers and administrators when it comes to the lifechanging decision to follow Jesus Christ.

Student Life Student life is alive and well on campus at Silverdale. In fact, it’s arguably just as alive off-campus. Service is a key component of both our philosophy and our curriculum. Students give of their time and talents to others in need. Our students are known as world-changers in the Chattanooga community. Silverdale students have the opportunity to be involved in clubs, the arts, athletics, and more as part of their extracurricular activities. For many, the highlight of the year is JTerm, short for January Term, an action-packed week of specialized learning students won’t normally find in the classroom. They can explore their passions, make new friends, and create once-in-a-lifetime memories. MISSION STATEMENT
