Multimedia Projects The word project comes from the Greek root πρό and the Latin verb “proicere” which means “to throw” something forward. The original meaning is also connected to the actions taken in advance before any activities, in other words, or a Plan. But at the beginning it was not connected to the act of carrying out a plan out. Later the word was adopted to refer to the course of actions to be taken in order to fulfill a need. A multimedia project is the one that integrates media components.

Project: a succession of steps that pretends to provide a solution to a given problem or as a response to a defined situation, which pretends to produce a change or an innovation.
Project types: Projects can be categorized based in the orientations they get, the typee of solution they provide, kind of institution they are oriented to, to the necessity they cover, the field they perform, resources resource and people in the process. Multimedia projects are usually developed by using computers and technology. They have to contain audio, animation, text, graphics, video and sound. These projects are more than just an old-fashioned old written report,, they cover many purposes for students to become independent, self learners, as they demonstrate knowledge learned, sharing information with others ( a larger audience), meeting the needs of a wider variety of student learning styles, providing an authentic assessment strategy for evaluation, gathering and citing information from many resources.

omputer technology is a tool which can assist the
student in creating a wide variety of multimedia projects. It is with the support of specialized computer computer software that students and teachers become creators of their own ideas. Using Multimedia, people can take advantage of specified software such as Hyperstudio, Powerpoint, Clarisworks, K Kidpix, and Netscape 4.0 Composer, oser, and many more, becoming helpful applications that allow the combination of sound, graphics, text, and video to create multimedia programs. Information and images can also be edited and created by using those programs, and many more as Photoshop, In design, Maya, Paint, etc. Internet also becomes a tool that supports the search of available sources to perform project. Pictures, videos, sounds and information can also be used from CDRom disks to help compose a multimedia report. Images can also be scanned from books or student work. Students can draw original pictures and animations on the computer which enhances a multimedia project. Digital cameras can transfer images easily from a field trip into a multimedia report. More sophisticated computers can download video movies and images from a video camera to be saved and used in multimedia projects. Sound can be added using sing a student's voice or taping music and sounds from a CD or a cassette into the computer application. application Teachers have been using projects for the past several years. In the beginning projects rojects were more oriented to content matter, nowadays projects not only provide a solution to a determined etermined problem, but they also become the vivid expression of art elements, design patterns, and innovation. The idea to perform Multimedia projects is also linked to the user needs. So, the project becomes an interactive tool, where everybody finds it interesting and challenging while working and finding solutions or paths to be followed. Nowadays teachers have to integrate general orientations with those multimedia elements at hand, hand and also he has to take in account nt the several media sources in order to find the creativity as the process goes on.
