THE MESSINA HOUSE I
Mechanical Room
designed this building in collaboration with the company Vass Technologies and it was built in 2019. It is placed in Baldissero Torinese, a little town close to the city of Torino, and it is located on the side of a hill in front of a forest valley.
When the project was started there was an old wooden cabin on the construction site, which the clients decided to demolish. The new building was inspired by the old house, it has the same shape characterized by a rectangular plan and a gable roof. The volume is increaed of the 25% compared to the old one, it is simple and monolithic with only a subtraction from the south-east corner where there is the entrance to the dwelling.
GF
On the GF there is an open living space with a relaxed seating area, the kitchen and the dining room to create a large family space. Large windows provide light and create the perfect visual continuity between inside and outside. Moreover on the same floor there is a laundry room, a guest room, a bathroom and the stairs which connect ground to first floor. On this floor there is the night area with two bedrooms and a large bathroom. Moreover on the 1st floor there are two private bedrooms with bathroom and independent entrance intended to be used as Bed & Breakfast.

The bow-window creates continuity between inside and outside. Thanks to the transparent window glass you have a high visibility to the landscape outside. This area is designed to be a cozy reading spot.
HOUSE ONE This house is composed of two floors: the GF is 48 sqm, the 1st F is 105 sqm. According to the clients' requests the design is simple and modern. This house is designed to be prefabbricated with wood as construction material. The same material is also used outside as covering materials as well as in the inside in the slab and in the furnitures. Project fully developed by me.

THE SEA HOUSE
In order to design a waterfront bungalow with a living area, a bedroom and a bathroom, the module was doubled and rotated.
This project was developed for a conceptual design competition called by VASS Technologies, with the goal to design a building starting from their prefab module.
The bungalow was ideally located at ÂŤPorto PinoÂť a stunning beach in the South West Coast of Sardinia, characterized by white dune sands and crystal water.
Tha main concept is to organize all the inner activities to be done in front of the sea, in order to enjoy the view during all day. The big and folding windows create a connection between the inside and the outside space. The exterior wall materials match the natural enviroment: white plaster like sand of the beach, wooden panels like bushes.

VASS HOUSE
I designed various sizes of dwellings which have common features in order to facilitate the executive planning and the prebabrication as well. The concept is clear and simple: the modules of the living area (facing South) and the main bedroom (facing West) don't change with the size of houses, which increase by adding other modules of bedrooms, bathrooms and utility rooms in the North side.
Mechanical Room
I developed this project in collaboration with the company VASS Technologies. The VASS House was designed to offer the clients a different range of choices for their future houses.

OFFICE BUILDING This project aims to renovate an existing building to host offices. The limits of the projects were mainly two, to respect the existing volume, with a regular and simple shape covered by a mono-pitched roof and to insert windows only in the main facade. In order to design a modern building and to suggest the idea of a big volume with deep and wellproportioned holes, I respected a regular module to design the main elevation. The interior spaces were designed for maximun comfort and flexibility, and the natural daylight is maximized thanks to the big windows in the main elevation and Velux roof Windows. South Elevation. HUNGARIAN COMPLEX MUSEUM This museum complex was designed to apply for the competition «Liget Budapest» which aimed to create two buildings, the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and the Foto-Muzeum, in Hungary, in the City Park.
1
The main concept is to create a tight relationship between the buildings and the context, particularly with the central square «Rondo» and the «Monument of 1956» in the centre. As the diagrams show, the concept is developed by using the central square, in order to emphasize the idea of the centrality of the Monument.

4
Concept
N
The two buildings are characterized by an alternation of empty and filled spaces to obtain visual axis from the back of the buildings to the central monument therefore the middle spaces are designed to be completely transparent. The architectural language and the shape is the same for both of the museums because the Rondo with the circular shape recalls the classical architecture, the simmetry and the proportions among parts of the buildings. In the construction area of the Foto Museum, due to the presence of trees to be preserved, the building'shape is adapted and part of the volume is subtracted therefore the museum is also perfectly inserted in the context.

The main goal of the project was to design two energy-efficient buildings, therefore both of the museums have a simple and compact shape, with 3 floors of height, in order to reduce the surface area. The volumetric heat transfer coefficient (A/V) is under the requested value 0.30. The museums present an alternation of filled and empty spaces, thhose correspond to different functions: the filled spaces host exhibitions area, offices, storage rooms and facilities; instead the empty spaces are designed to be area of transition and welcome, in fact they correspond to the entrance hall (ticketing, etc) and corridors. The empty spaces are completely glazed and the filled spaces are covered with fiber cement (with a stone pattern) and wooden brise soleil.

PREFABRICATED WOODEN ARCHITECTURE SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOOD The project is focused on the development of a residential area in accordance with environmental sustainability criteria. The main goal is to design sustainable buildings with a thermal performance close to being considered passive houses. The multi-storey buildings with four levels are composed of three volumes, the central includes stairs and elevators, in the side volumes there are retail stores on the GF and apartments on the upper levels.
A
The building material is “Xlam panel that consists of a minimum of three layers of boards in coniferous wood, mutually intersecting and glued which allows low values of thermal conductivity. The eco-friendly building material and the thermal efficiency in addition to prefabrication with simple connections allows to save money over the building life cycle. The project respects also other green criteria such as low shape factor (the surface area to volume (S/V) ratio), the efficient solar and wind exposure to receive the maximum solar radiation in winter and the lowest in summer, in addition to the right airflow.

PRINCE EDWARD MEDICAL CLINIC This project is a renovation of an old three-story building in Toronto, built in the 50s. At the ground floor there are medical offices, at the 1st floor a medical clinic, at the 2nd a dentist office. The main changes were made in the East elevation and in a medical clinic in the 1st floor where the interior space was completed rennovated and to respect the client's request particular attention was paid in the design of the lobby. The proposed east facade appears more modern thanks to the use of the curtain wall and a big flat plane made of colorized metal panels. The new canopy is thinner and more lightweight and it creates a connection with the north facade to emphasize the main entrance. Metal Panel

NEW VOLUMES IN A HISTORIC DISTRICT TERRACED HOUSES The project of these terraced houses was designed to be placed in Villanova, a historic district in the city of Cagliari. The urban contest is high-density with many terraced houses, often interrupted by multi-functional buildings. Urban lots are long and narrow and the main elevations of houses face the street so they are closed with a few windows. Whereas the opposite facades of the houses face the back court or inner yard. The project area is on the top of a steep slope so one side is open to the East city view, the other side faces the Via San Saturnino, where it is closed by a wall. The concept aims to respect the main features of the contest (narrow and long lots) and the architectural profile line of the wall (its continuity and height) in order not to change the historic perception of this area and not to reduce the solar light.
