PREFABRICATED WOODEN ARCHITECTURE SUSTAINABLE NEIGHBORHOOD The project is focused on the development of a residential area in accordance with environmental sustainability criteria.

The building material is “Xlam panel� that consists of a minimum of three layers of boards in coniferous wood, mutually intersecting and glued which allows low values of thermal conductivity. The eco-friendly building material and the thermal efficiency in addition to prefabrication with simple connections allows to save money over the building life cycle. The project respects also other green criteria such as low shape factor (the surface area to volume (S/V) ratio) and the efficient solar and wind exposure to receive the maximum solar radiation in winter and the lowest in summer, in addition to the right airflow.

The main goal is to design sustainable buildings with a thermal performance close to being considered passive houses. The multi-storey buildings with four levels are composed of three volumes, the central includes stairs and elevators, in the side volumes there are retail stores on the GF and apartments on the upper levels.
