The McCoy family owns a rock quarry near Manhattan, Kansas where they purchased a farm in 1951. The surrounding land, which includes 1000’s of acres, produces limestone ledge rock that is totally unique to the location. Ledge rock is found in other parts of Kansas and other states but the ledge rock quarried by McCoy Rock has a distinctive look and color. The family farm and quarry still exist and that rock is now available in Temecula, also. When Don McCoy and his wife relocated to Temecula, they extended the family business by offering the Kansas-quarried ledge rock to the local market.
