Graduating with a BFA in fashion design, Jennifer Janesko began her career as a fashion design illustrator. It was not long, however, before she started evolving her fashion illustrations into beautiful works of fine art.

“I have always loved drawing, and pencil and paper was my happy place. My dad was an artist in his spare time, and it opened up a magical space in my childhood. My dad is no longer on this earth, so when I create art as an adult I feel connected to him,” says Janesko.

Taking a modernist approach, Janesko classifies some of her art as abstract landscapes. “They are inspired by the vistas I see when I travel. I layer those memories in my mind and paint them into a single image,” she explains.

She also designs figurative art. “My figurative art is created using either oil or acrylic for paintings and graph-

ite or ink for drawings.” Janesko has an understanding of her feminine figures, and communicates them to the viewer as both soft and strong, gentle and fierce, vulnerable and impervious to pain. In her collection, one will find oil on canvas or board, acrylic on canvas or board, and drawings on paper.

Janesko is partnering with General Public in California. “They scan original art and then print it in 3D. The prints are sold at Restoration Hardware nationwide, including the Leawood, Kansas, location. I believe they are offering 12 of my images as prints,” she explains. “@generalpublic has released several of my images, which will sell as canvas prints. You can purchase and view them by visiting the @rh_modern website.”

“I’m also working on a new collection of original figurative paintings which I will exhibit in gallery format,”

she adds. “There isn’t a date for that exhibit because of our current pandemic situation, but I’m hoping for next spring.”

Janesko believes each of her works of art conveys a story that has been birthed by the artist, but completed by the viewer. It’s a partnership that permits the viewer to create a personal dream destination. Indeed, when viewing Janesko’s landscapes, one is transitioned from a day to day reality into a more vibrant, electric yet serene destination.

Janesko’s art is abstract, but at the same time pulls the viewer into a very realistic setting. One feels as if they are transported into the setting of the painting, or connected to the figure in the drawing. Janesko consistently communicates an easy, peaceful vibe that makes any room feel more tranquil and energized.

There are many avenues to connect to Jennifer Janesko and her work. On her website, one can purchase not only her works of art, but two of her published hardcover books. Abstract works of art, figure works and studies, and scarves are also available for purchase.

“My website is janeskofineart.com, but I encourage collectors to visit my Instagram account, @janeskoart, which is kept current daily,” she says. “You can also watch my process and painting videos and see my studio assistant, Mish Mish.”
