I work in an orchard.

I pick peaches.

Today is hot. I stop for water.

I look up. The sun shines. No clouds in the sky. Birds fly.

I see Tomo.

Tomo is a big man.

Tomo has big hands.

Tomo has big feet.

I hug Tomo.

‘You are 16 years old,’ my father says. ‘Time for you to have a family’ my father says.

‘I am happy with no family,’ I say.

‘A man needs a wife,’ my father says ‘You get married,’ my father says.

My father sees me with Tomo.

‘I will kill you both,’ my father says.

But I miss the orchard.

Now I live with Tomo. I am happy.
