collective memorare This a project for the rennovation and revitalisation of the old train station area in Bubenec. In oreder to ensure proper connections, the langauge that was once used to fragment the site is now reapplied, cutting, using irony as a tool to respect the memoire of the site. The existing materials are translated into new elements or just simply reused to keep the memory of the site intact. The new massings respect the existing by utilizing the dominant axises embedded within the site to divide the old and the new. This hidden line that acts as a spine is translated into a bridge attaching the individual ribs to furthermore enhance the circulation on the site. As part of the overall language the new extensions have no doors or windows, they are just interiors fully visible from the exterior.
The site works as a campus for performative arts.
It holds a Dance Hall; a Main Stage; a Flexilbe Stage; a Music & Theatre Hall; a Culinary Hall and Craft Ateliers.
