What's New: How Sweet It Is
Deliciously gorgeous creations from Blush Bakery by Kate

Simply put, special occasions are infinitely more special when you have a one-of-a-kind sweet creation that not only takes your guests’ breath away with its appearance but also tastes sinfully delicious. For Kate Washenberger, having the ability to accomplish exactly this is her joy and purpose.
According to Kate, “From a young age, I have always had an interest in baking - it’s such a wonderful and delicious way to show people that you care and are thinking of them! This hobby of mine eventually led me to earn a Pastry and Baking Certificate and begin my career in the dessert industry over four years ago.”
She shares, “Upon moving back to Sioux Falls last year, I used my parents’ kitchen to bake and decorate a three-tiered cake and twenty-four smaller cakes in one week for my sister’s wedding. I enjoyed that process and having control over my schedule so much that I began to wonder about the possibility of starting my own baking business out of my home. After deciding to job search a bit still, I further realized that there aren’t very many sources for modern and customizable desserts in the area. I wanted to provide a new option for people to be able to order beautiful desserts that meet their needs and help make their celebrations even that much sweeter and memorable!”
Blush Bakery by Kate specializes in creating custom cakes and other sweet treats for any occasion. From cupcakes and cookies for a birthday party to a tiered cake and French macarons served at a wedding, she works to create a wide selection of custom desserts that can be ordered for pickup or delivery in the Sioux Falls area.
Working out of her home bakery, Kate is proud that she can provide personal and precise attention to detail for every customer. She smiles, “The passion that I have for helping others feel important
and cared for, in addition to the fact that all of my baking is done entirely from scratch, are two things that I give high emphasis to as well. I love that I have the opportunity to spread joy in the lives of others while creating unique desserts that are just as impressive to taste as they are at first blush!”
