Spring Forward with our Easter Programme Winter is certainly a beautiful season, though can wreak havoc on our skin, cars and sanity. Some say the best part about winter is that it gives way to Spring; the season of resurrection, regeneration and renewal. Considering each of these elements, our Easter Programme includes several new experiences from our Culinary, Spa and LIFE Teams. Try your hand at cloud archery, Tai Chi with Pascal Veraguth, raft building, chocolate demonstrations and many more deliciously engaging activities! Click the programme to peruse online.
Freeze Frame: New Resort Photography Now in our fifth year of operation, the palms are flourishing, wadis lush and organic garden verdant. We have recently transformed our bar and restaurants, adding a Terrace and updating colour schemes. Finally in image we have captured the beauty of these trimmings through new photography by Russ Kientsch of Dubai.

Stopover in Paradise: Sailing Arabia the Tour With the expected arrival of the second edition of SATT slated for 03:00, low winds and darkness at the northern tip of the Musandam Peninsula tested the speed of the racing boats and the drive of the sailors. As sunlight peeked over the horizon and the Skippers could see the sails of their competitors a steady breeze blew them south and into the warm waters of Zighy Bay, spinnakers at full and team Courrier Dunkerque winning the leg, crossing the finish line just metres in front of the resort. The following day on Friday the 25th sailors and VIPs enjoyed a lavish Arabic beach BBQ lunch hosted by Six Senses on Friday afternoon. Attended in honour by H.E. Maitha al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary to the Minister of Tourism. Prizes were awarded to the race leg winners. John Philipson, Managing Director welcomed the sailors. “We are very pleased to host Sailing Arabia – the Tour for the second year. We feel genuinely privileged to be the first port of call in Oman for the fleet and to welcome sailors of such caliber to Six Senses.. The coastline of Oman is beautiful, and Sailing Arabia – the Tour serves to highlight that beauty to the region.” The fifth leg began on Saturday the 26th en route to Musannah and finished in Muscat on Sunday the 27th.
Beyond The Hour: Earth Hour in Zighy
Each month on the night of the full moon we celebrate SLOW LIFE hour, turning off energy-using equipment and facilities for one hour, dining by moonlight and celebrating low-carbon activities and dining. We emulate this from the internationally-celebrated WWF’s Earth Hour. This year on Saturday, 31st March the world will join together to raise awareness of our excessive energy consumption and “uniting people to protect the planet, turning off lights for one hour between 20:30 and 21:30. We have a day’s programme of fun low-carbon activities to officially go, “beyond the hour.” A family-friendly activity, we will begin the day with a non-carbon-emitting exercise in water purification and solar cooking using only mother nature, and rewarding participants with their own homemade tea freshly picked from the Organic Garden. Continue our day of awareness with an underwater cleanup by snorkel or scuba, led by Extra Divers in our neighbouring bays of Haffa and Sanat. Participants are thanked with a special treat on the beach upon return to the resort. No Rush Hour in Zighy Bar will offer only local mock and cocktails hand picked from the Organic Garden and in preparation for the evening’s lowcarbon BBQ by the wadi. Those looking for a fine-dining experience can join us at Sense on the Edge for our Earth Hour Dinner in the Dark experience at 293 metres. A progressive culinary journey, guests are received with welcome cocktail before being blindfolded for the first course, second course served and the main course served under the bright glow of candlelight at the strike of Earth Hour at 20:30. Within the resort an exciting build up to Earth Hour happens on the Main Beach, including a unique lighting ceremony at the shutdown of electricity. Children and Teens will have made their own paper lanterns during the day to help illuminate this communal event. As the lights come back on, relax on the Main Beach in your sunlounger to watch a special Cinema Paradiso with engaging documentary on our beautiful planet, clearly demonstrating why it’s worth saving.
