Introduction

I’ve carefully researched, hand sketched, and inked each coloring page to bring forth a unique, original scene to inspire your wonder. Feel free to experiment with color and medium, letting your time in this book be not about keeping in the lines or making it perfect, but enjoying the process! My hope is that you will feel joy in coloring these pages, bringing meaning and vibrancy to the black-and-white lines.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi! I’m Rachel Reinert—artist, author, and art educator. I live in Portland, Oregon, with my two children, husband, and a small flock of chickens! I’ve had the chance to explore some incredible tropical climates around the world, such as the misty Costa Rican rainforests and the jungles of Cambodia, where I explored hidden wats (temples) overtaken by dense tangles of vines. For two years I lived in Australia. I was so inspired by its incredible flora and fauna that I began work on my very first coloring book. My favorite memories there include watching the massive flying foxes every evening at dusk, having cockatoos land on my head, and seeing stunning king protea growing in the wild. From visiting the lush cloud dome in Singapore to elephant sanctuaries in Thailand, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of jungles and rainforests around the world.
