First let me say that I personally HATED the SOE and cerfew, not only did I feel caged but I didn’t get the oportunity to enjoy any late night, straight line entertainment in order to ease the tension. Anybody who supported that thing was lacking common sense and it’s obvious that it was conceived by people who belong in the stone age. Yes folks, welcome to another sixthspeed, yes we know we promised Sept Oct and it now coming out; relax and know that we are on the ball to bring you the goodness better than ever. This year was a revamp of the freshness year and judging by how many of you “bought” issue 13, we can safely say that we’re on the right track. Keep supporting the magazine that lives for the underground. Which brings me to this. I love speed but I can’t understand how there can be so much disunity and cliquishness in a multi faced sport where everybody’s in it for the same thing: going fast, the spirit of competition and most importantly FUN. There has been a toting of feelings and a do for do that has been going on between big people who supposed to know better. Get it together people!

Drags IS BACK!

Kids, we thought it was a hoax, but after touching the Camden Airstrip and seeing men lay down the 1/4 mile law boldface and brazen we are now convinced. Structured by TTASA in association with TTUNDRA and Horizon Motorsports, the Camden Airstrip is once again open to official drags and men took advantage in more ways than one. Despite rain that ate into the fun time on both the 26 and 27 November, the skies eventually cleared, the track dried out and men got a chance to not only relearn their cars but work out bugs and hidden issues. Like we say running on a track and running on the street is two different thing. Even though both days were full of hiccups, especially with the timing light being down in the later half on Saturday there were some impressive runs and matchups. Sparky with his SR20DET 120Y was hooking nice from the jump and even with small boost was able to get down into 10’s, Kingston 12 Cefiro with the 1JZ had clutch issues and despite almost running over a dog came back Sunday to redeem. Garage 4 team member Half Def with with NA tuned Nitrous injected EK3 hatch made swift work of Yohan’s moving SPEC C Legacy. Jason’s EG hatch; another Garage 4 project, was grimy as well despite have traction issues and a few bugs managed to seal itself in 11’s. Aaron with the yellow

CAllAtheRCar TA IL it: News in a Short Short (Eur) After leaving motorsport Toyota is getting back in the game with a full prepped hybrid car built for Le Mans, not to mention the actual building of the FT86. Targeted for the drift market the 200HP FT will be Toyota’s first RWD car since the death of the Supra in 2002 (TT) Garage4 (Jason Jameson) has managed to tarot card a titanic 603hp & 374 tq from a B18C. Mounted in a EG hatch, with goodies from XRP & Autonation the GT35 trusted hatch is set to break hearts. (Jap) The series of DVDs that set of names like RE Amemiya, Aqua, MCR, Orido, Tsuchiya and more is making a comeback with 24HR Motoring bringing forth more instalments of Hot Version after they pulled the plug on both HV and BMI due to bad DVD sales. (Jap) The 2013 Nissan Skyline goes up by 12HP to stand at 542 with 466 lb-ft of torque that will be delivered from 3,200 rpm all the way up to 5,800 rpm. Also in the mix is various track versions, aero effects, efficiency improvements and better tranny. On paper the 2013 is actually 8 sec faster than the 2012. (TT) There is going to be madness in the power boat arena come 2012 with a slew of boats changing hands e.g Intense and Miss Trinidad (TT) BMW M Power tour hit Trinidad shores at the Hasley Crawford Stadium with a full demo of what the cars; namely M3, M5, X5M & X6M were capable of. (USA) There is a new gymkhana video out. By the time you read this it will be old news, but at the time of typing it was FRESH.

Skyline did a lot of grudge run against the plethora of bikes who also came out ready and prepared. We had Horsie with his Busa square of with the ex mayor of San/Do Ian Atherly with his ultra streched ZX14, gripping and despite the ZX14 shooting VERY straight and Horsie coming off the line squiggly, the loffo beast was able to get the better. Other bike came out as well and were consistently touching 9’s and 10s whole day. In a matchup between Lynden Evo 4 did a run against Gideon’s built Evo 7 and lost after the Evo 7 gained ground and clipped him on top. The 2JZ powered S14 i.e Boost Factory was detrimentally fast and showed what big power, transmission and hooking tires could do. If not for the timing system going down it was possible that he could’ve touch 9’s according to some. The S14 was even able to trump Peter Laaquis in his 20B 2nd generation rx7; but not by much. After getting out the hole first and leading by about 6 cars, the s14 couldn’t shake the 2nd gen who had no traction in first and second, however closed the gap after chooking in 3rd on top. Clean and sounding VERY mean Peter Laaquis was able to lay down a 10.1 on Sunday, with room to go even faster. There were many other bess runners such as Ryan’s Nissan SR20DET B13 which was consistently quick off the draw; the Rotary powered mini from ALARM ONE, a white B14 SR20DET and the only VR galant. Despite the plethora of issues the event pulled of nice and props has to be given to the people & organisation that managed to pull this off and bring drags back.

(TT) Neal and Massy Limited; the Nissan dealer, have sold (7) 370Z ‘s since bringing it in in 2011. Who say trini’s broken (TT) Flying under the radar is Trinidad & Tobago drag racer Oswald Stoute who ran his 2nd gen Mazda RX7 into first place in the ten seconds bracket at the Culturama International Drag Racing event at the St. James Raceway, Nevis, W.I. Congratulations (USA) Porche and Blackberry have teamed up to bring forth a cellphone. The P’9981

CARNAL.LUST FD3s Version V Type RZ / ONLY 175 Harder to get than a honest politician with a conscience in the middle of a general election; this FD, built by Mazda in 2000 to celebrate the 10 anniversary of the 3rd gen is like finding purple gold in a latrine on High Street in San Fernando. Representing with ONLY 175, this FD that you will never get to see, was a cut above the norm and should be considered in no way ordinary. Rotary inside; which we at the magazine love more than Sunday lunch on a Monday, had efficiency improvements across Point Fortin thus making the car more lethal than a curry ninja in a wake. In order to bring up the power more efficient turbochargers were installed on the 13B together with a remapped 16BIT ECU and fresh exhaust. Cooling of the Series 8 was by way of a revised front that channelled more air to both the radiator and intercooler. On paper power was rated at only 276 due to the gentleman’s agreement but it was actually more like 315. A new adjustable spoiler was introduced to add downforce and keep the lighter chassis on the ground while the suspension was levelled with Bilstein shocks and lightweight BBS 17’s tay-layed with Potenza S-07 tires. Inside saw the stock gen seats out for Red carbon kevlar bucket seats Recaro to hold mankind in place; there was even an aluminium floor plate/ footrest for the passenger to push more firmly in the seat when things got blatantly brutal and eyes had to close.

WE KNOWED NOT OF: TWO FACE: SSS Bluebird U13 – SR20 TRD ALTIS SPORTIVO

WE GOT: a car that not many people bought enthusiastically. Laden with the usual bore there wasn’t much different between the bottom; a silver top SR20 (143HP) and the bottomless SR18 (123HP) models. Don’t bawl cause you see SR, the car weighed more than 3000lbs.

The Altis is a female bred; er, bought car and in Trinbago whilst it sold under foreign used, it’s still crap to us. However, we had NO IDEA that Toyota Thailand brought out a sporty version dubbed the Toyota Corolla Altis TRD Sportivo. Making it different is a very aggressive bodykit, great lines, a limited run of just 1000, normal colors (Black or White) and two engine options. 1.6/ 1.8. The down side is the suspension remains stock and there’s NO turbocharger/ screaming RPM! Toyota Trinidad & Tobago should take pattern and do something fun like this.

THEY GOT: the sleek shark that romped the scales with 206HP coming from a redtop SR20DET with this 14 sec car, family fun was standard as power in the SSS was similar to the GTiR Pulsar. Coming in with the beef was a front mount intercooler, digital heads up display, bodykit, 5 speed forward and had a full-time 4WD system with a center differential that was switchable betweenFront wheel drive/4WD

Would work even better if you get partners to hold down the car. 3. Come in with Loud Blowoff/ wastegate 4. Launch Control, better yet anti lag. Pow! 5. Hopping the car as if it biting hard

6. Slicks! Big Intercooler showing! 7. Make a full throttle pass by yourself. Cars are faster when running solo. 8. Come big. The bigger your entrance with fanfare the fiercer you will look 9. Don’t be afraid to wild out a bit to show of the prowess of the beast

Everybody knows that ALL the choice mango is never within arm’s reach. They always seem to be out of touch, liming at the top. So, when you happen to spot the sucker that burns holes in your eye and makes your belly cramp; you lock on, arm yourself with about 5 big stone and with the last of your energy let loose the barrage. Unless you’re a veteran your aim will suck and you will cut down a lot of green leaf and youngster before..... Budup! You walk over to retrieve the item that will alleviate the intestinal quarrelling and save a life, only to realize that the entire back half of the mange was skinned clean by the laughing Kiskidee you saw tanning out on a nearby high tension wire. This my dear friends is known as deception and Keith Jagroop’s 1986 Mitsubishi Lancer is ram full of it in more ways than the Parading Politicians on the campaign trail. Having been a speed man from long and always loving the 1800GSR, Keith’s chance to own life came by way of an insurance rep who was selling his daily; alongside policies. Not known to be a procrastinator (unlike the editor), Keith did away with the AC brisk brisk and looked to up the performance cup. First rounds of modification was a RB20 turbo, more boost and a FPR which had the GSR very lively and Keith all smiles on the prowl for victims. It so happened that a chance drive on the solomon lead Keith to bounce up a rasta in an Audi TT coupe. Advantage time! Leading for a bit, Keith had the Audi on the ropes until the ceramic wheel couldn’t handle the pressure and decided to come through the exhaust. Replacing the RB turbo was a homemade hybrid between the stock GSR turbo and a RX7 unit he got from his brother Stephen; another gringo in the life, except his love is rotary. The machining of the two turbos into one had the lancer barking more with the potent increase in power, but the goodness wasn’t only as a result of increased airflow. Due to a vacuum hose that fell out, the car was somehow working without the airflow and therein dumping fuel. It just so happened that the additional fuel blended nicely with the boost increase, thus enabling the GSR to leave man from a side until; once again, a highway pull had him down for the count this time being blown headgasket.

When it comes to speed not much people dare to be different. Sad to say that most people are just like; well, most people and stick to the safe build or copy something from a partner and claim it as fresh. When something has been done to death it really hard to lay claim to being above the rest and nowhere is that more evident than a Nissan medalist project. It’s been done to death! So in order to escape the done to death syndrome, there must be something exceptionally different to make people; take a couple looks, hold their hearts, grab some chest hair and say what de crix and cheese going on dey. Kiddies; we know you are thinking; that this is just another Nissan C33 Medalist with a RB and big turbo. You are right except with the “another” part. This car isn’t normal and considering that there are fewer than 10 really

interesting medalisto projects including Rio’s Most Wanted (coming to a sixth soon) in Trinbago, you can bet your bottom Dookeran that this car is a different as they come. When Jason Lake, (probably the first guy in history to refer to us as Sixth Reverse) decided to build a project to romp with the big boys in the neighborhood he was face with two challenges; money and what really to do. Naturally; with ownership of a medalist the obvious choice is RB, but rather than go with a 25DET or 26DETT Lake stuck with the pocket friendly 20. Initially the mods were rather straight forward with the typical boltons; but competition among men who were bringing their A game has lake scampering for upward mobility. After what seemed like an doing research, Lake started with headwork. The RB20 is exactly known for its best flow capabilities as compared to the 25/ 26 so besides a polish on the ports, Lake prepared the head to take pressure as is with some very aggressive HKS cams and adjustable Fidanza cam gears. Due to the rough and ready nature of the camshaft, Lake had to upgrade the valvetrain; so in went

++Okay kiddies here is how this wukking. We at the Sixth will always maintain the fact that how are taught and therein certified to drive in Trinbago is a full cheers pack of in-clandestine insanity. In an effort to bring it; cause we want you around, we are introducing the Sixth Speed Driver Series. Giving it to you real like the aim is to help you become a DRIVER + RIDER by giving you PROPER info to make you THINK and remember Speed doesn’t kill; blind Stupidity + Ignorance does.

SIXTH SPEED DRIVER SERIES: EFFECTIVE DRIVING 2 Before you begin, overstand this:

Now before you get it twisted like an old bedsheet, we want you to thoroughly understand that effective driving is a developing habit and becoming a more effective driver MEANS getting to understand the fundamentals, making sure you know the right thing and continuously doing the right thing. In the same vein; ineffective driving, which is what MOST people do on a day to day basis because the driving system in Trinbago suck bananas, is just as similar with the usual outcome being tantamount dotishness. Now something you may not know is that good driving is a learned habit and the power of habits lies in the fact that they are what you do naturally when you are not trying to do something else. Attempting to change your driving habits without first changing the way you see it, your overall attitude or your thinking towards it is a systematic waste of time. Go eat a doubles or buss down some crab. Not because you have never gotten into an accident means you are a good driver

WHAT are effective drivers made of?

Everybody knows that GREAT drivers are made in motorsport; so chances are if you’re not involved in the sport of champions to some degree, you probably not that good of a driver; don’t feel bad that’s life. The reason we say this without remorse is that it’s only in motorsport drivers have to perform and push the envelope on (3) separate but interrelated levels that critically define what it means to be an effective driver. Not well kiddies because Real Drivers are damn

good at, Managing their personal state, Managing their vehicle and Managing the road/ traffic around them. The only thing NO DRIVER has control over is the environment; but, real drivers are ALWAYS able to assess and adapt accordingly in order to accommodate ANY situation.

Personal State Management (Manage yourself)

Managing your personal state simply means taking control of you, who you are and really understanding yourself especially when it’s behind the wheel. More to the point is that effective drivers have their mental, emotional and physical state in check before and during the art of driving (yes kids driving is an art). When you get inside that driver’s seat your mind, body and soul is supposed to be locked into driving; be it be for the passengers to feel relaxed; yourself to get home safe OR for the man you are about to decimate for being fresh and out of place. The core reason why we say you HAVE to be fixated on driving alone is that as humans we have limited information processing abilities and must rely on info from three mental functions; perception, attention and memory in order to initiate the action process. Mind you these very functions are not perfect and the quality of information coming in can sometimes lead to horrible decisions and bad actions. If you can’t focus on driving alone then you are essentially cutting up your available processing time which means a diminished ability to think properly, come up with an appropriate solution and apply a correct action. Focusing on the task at hand is important; not to mention that managing your personal state encompasses so many things it’s not even funny and to go into

each is a brush with madness we are not going to even entertain. It’s important to note that a car/ bike/ truck or whatever is an extension of you; how you move as a person will translate across to how you drive and how well you drive. Just so that you get our drift as it relates to mental; if your mind is jacked full of dotishness, then you are gonna drive as such since you won’t be able to properly process info. They way you think and what you think about when you drive ultimately translates across to how well you will make certain driving decisions as those thoughts form part of the information pool your brain pulls from. Runaway emotions when driving makes you prone to errors and eventually driving like a beng simply because in terms of processing info you are not doing it out of sensible logic but irrational emotion and you are actually giving your processing unit one more thing to deal with. Smart people know that making a decision based on emotion in driving is going to beff you up bigtime. If a person gives you a bad drive getting angry and raising your blood pressure doesn’t help, let it go, react accordingly and go on your merry way – don’t beat up. Likewise; if you bubbling on the line, getting over excited can cause you to err and lose – focus and don’t let the next man have the needles. The better you are in terms of physical fitness (mind, spirit and body), the faster you will process information and the faster your body can react; not to forget that fitter people have better control over their motor skills. Being fit raises your threshold across the board and helps improve concentration among a host of other things. Like was said before a car or bike is a direct extension of you and NO AMOUNT of skill will allow

It may sound weird but we have been hearing about you on the underground for months. In fact, just the other day we saw you romping; looking bitterly sexy, on the bypass and doing it. What’s the deal with you and bike woman cause Gawd knows you could handle it? LOL! Well I always had a love for bike and my dad was a rider; he even carried my mom to the hospital on a bike. So basically you could say was sleeping in my blood and when the opportunity came it took it one time So when did that opportunity present itself? Opportunity came knocking when I was in traffic. I just happened to glance across to see a female rider next to me and I was totally amazed because I never used to see women riding before. At first I didn’t know who she was; the woman turned out to be Son1a :ITbut Analyst|DRIFT Enthuasist|Nissan S14Carrington. Natrually I went crazy and in that instant I was like I have to get a bike. One phone call to a partner and four days later I was on a bike riding. Did you teach yourself to ride or did you have a tutor? I kinda taught myself along with the help of a few friends who rode as well. They gave me pointers here and there. Also it felt so natrual for me and in two two’s I was going What did your parents say when the got hold that you were on a bike; most parents would flip out. I know partner whose moms hit him a level duss out for going near bike? Serious thing, man coulda dead! LOL! My mom was really surprised; but, she was pleasantly surprised and very excited. She used to say “Glory, you look so hot on the bike!” and stuff like that. No lie, you really do look hot on a bike. It’s because of you, I almost clear way a 3 tonne Kia, the day when I saw you moving on the bypass. By the way, what bike did you start on? Well, the first bike was an 07 Honda CBR 600 and I am being honest, I

One of the greatest flicks of all time is the Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Now, if it is you don’t know what a Betamax is; then I am quite absolutely, definitely sure you won’t know this movie; which is sadder than vegetarian pelau with curry crab. Filled with greed, disrespect, badness and all the other essentials that qualify it as a classic; this movie has many lessons, most important being never bring a knife to a gunfight.

Usually, we at the magazine are tyrannically hardcore and blatantly steadfast on stuff we like and stuff we don’t like, especially when it comes to cars. If there is a car we love; no doubt we would sing so much praises about it the earth will feel sick. However if there is a car that we tyrannically despise, we WILL hold no water in wasting it into oblivion; all the while smiling like a fresh pitch-oil lamp. In all honesty we hate the EVO 10 with burning passion. If somebody walked up to us and gave us a choice between a Claxton Bay garbage truck and the 10 we would have gladly taken the truck and be on our way, smiling. Yes kids that how much we never liked this car; to us the 9 was perfect in every way and there was no way this generational cursed EVO could come along and make us drool, dribble and bust a cherry on ourselves at the magazine. NEVER! Kids; this is Kevin Lutchmansingh’s Evo X and let history show that this is only the 3rd time that a project has made us rethink our position from “will NEVER want to own that piece of marmalade in life.” to “want one now, now, now!”

Kevin is one those car guys whose love for high performance isn’t normal; mind you that’s a good thing. After taking ownership of a stock EVO X; Kevin’s decision to ramp up the pace factor was out of the pure need to improve on what felt like a normal car. Yes he did the traditional intake and exhaust at first but that really wasn’t cutting it; so Kevin dressed back and began to do research on how to make the Evo into a lockness monster full with rage and lacking mercy. Based on builds done by some of the world’s best; it took Kevin 3 months to put together his decadent shopping list of goodness so as to light the fires in a way that would exhume the living.
