School Mission: Enabling Students to Learn How to Learn and to Learn How to Live as Lasallian People for Others
Established in 2007, SJI International is a non-profit co-educational school rooted in the Lasallian Catholic tradition. We warmly welcome students from diverse backgrounds and faiths, and strongly emphasise the value of individuals, placing significant importance on fostering meaningful relationships within our community. Our ultimate goal is to help each student reach their fullest potential, embrace challenges, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a discerning and analytical mindset.
Our learning programme is built on four distinct pillars: Academic, Outdoor Education, Service Learning and Co-Curricular Activities.
As one of only three schools in Singapore licensed to educate both Singaporean and international students, students are prepared for success in a global context.

Grade 9 and 10 (IGCSE)
• Students followed the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and sat eight IGCSEs at the end of Grade 10, or nine if they sat IGCSE Additional Mathematics.
• Changes to the Cambridge Examination Board Administrative Zones led to the withdrawal of the First Language Japanese and First Language Korean exams in Singapore. Students in these classes are assessed internally only, resulting in students sitting seven or eight IGCSEs.
• All students study Biology, Chemistry and Physics, either through Coordinated Science (Double Award), or by studying each as an individual subject. The latter does not indicate additional rigour, rather opting for Coordinated Science allows the student to study an additional Humanities or Arts subject.

THE SERVICE LEARNING, CO-CURRICULAR LEARNING AND OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAMMES (CLASS OF 2024)
All students in Grades 7 - 12 engage in Service Learning, Co-Curricular Learning and Outdoor Education. Since direct interaction was not possible between 2020 and 2022 due to COVID restrictions, service learning took place through means such as advocacy or virtually.
Students at SJI International have opportunities to support a range of communities locally and abroad by engaging in direct service, indirect service, advocacy and research. Supported by the CCA programme, students can join existing service projects, support established organisations or establish and lead a new service project to solve an identified need.
As a requirement of the IB Diploma, students worked collaboratively with their peers and members of the community to carry out at least one CAS Project. A CAS Project is a collaborative, well-considered series of sequential CAS experiences, engaging students in one or more of the CAS strands of creativity, activity, and service. Students need to demonstrate the 5 CAS
• All students take Physical Education and Religious Education, which are non-examined school based courses.
Grade 10 Foundation Course (FC)
• G10 FC is a one year course structured to accommodate students who were unable to participate in the full two-year IGCSE course because they joined the school at the start of Grade 10.
• FC students may occasionally sit for an IGCSE language examination, however, this is not the norm.
Grade 11 and 12 (IB Diploma)
• Students follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, with the occasional student opting to complete individual IB Courses.
• Aligning with the school’s four pillars, students are strongly advised against taking four Higher Level subjects. Students are not permitted to take seven subjects in the IB Diploma.
• Non-Singaporean students awarded an SJI International Scholarship are required to study their Home Language at the Language and Literature level (Group 1). They must then study English at either the Language and Literature level (Group 1) or the Language Acquisition level (Group 2).
stages (investigation, preparation, action, reflection and demonstration). The highlight of the project was the presentation evening where students presented their project to their peers, school community, parents and community partners.
From Grade 7 onwards, all students participate in challenging residential experiences overseas. All students in Grade 9 complete the National Youth Achievement Bronze Award, an internationally recognised programme similar to the UK Duke of Edinburgh Award. From Grade 10 onwards students can choose to continue to the Silver and Gold Awards. Should a student continue to the Gold Award, they will receive this honour in early January, following graduation.

IB DIPLOMA RESULTS
Global results are weighted to account for May and November sessions.
SAT/ACT TESTS
Standardised tests have always been a barrier and cause a great deal of anxiety in our community.
• As students sit their final examinations in October and November, there are no SAT/ACT test dates that fit seamlessly with the calendar.
• In keeping with the four pillars of our programme, students are not encouraged to spend excessive amounts of time preparing for standardised tests.
Students at SJI International will generally take a standardised test only if required. Universities should not expect a standardised test result otherwise.
