e world-famous LoggerodeoTM is Sedro-Woolley’s official Fourth of July celebration, bringing the community together for a wide range of fun activities. Independence Day festivities in then separate towns Sedro and Woolley began in 1886. When the towns merged in 1948, the new festival was named LoggerodeoTM; this year marks the 75th annual event under the LoggerodeoTM name!
It is always a good idea to check the LoggerodeoTM website and Facebook page closer to July for any last-minute changes.

Event applications can be found on loggerodeo.org under applications. Two ways to turn them in:

Drop them off at the LoggerodeoTM office: 727 Murdock St. Unit 3. (Above the museum.)
The official LoggerodeoTM T-shirt sale will begin at Blast from the Past on June 2, 2023 and continue at the Chainsaw Carving Competition during the LoggerodeoTM, June 30July 4. Shirts cost $15.
Arts & Crafts Fair
e Arts & Crafts Fair is moving to the parking lot at the corner of Warner and Metcalf Streets. It will run July 1 through July 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beard Contest
e 2023 event will be held Saturday, July 1 at 3:30 p.m. Contestants should meet at Hammer Heritage Square between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. to get their name on the list. Beards will be judged in three categories.
Carnival
Rainier Amusements will be bringing the carnival back to the LoggerodeoTM this year! Opening night is Friday, June 30 at 5 p.m.
Chainsaw Carving Competition
e 27th annual championship will run June 30 through July 4. Join us downtown Sedro-Woolley at the corner of Murdock and State streets during the LoggerodeoTM. Come out to watch 16 professional carvers create their artistic masterpieces from beautiful cedar logs. You will have a chance to bid on your favorites at the daily auctions. Eagles Club parking lot: 1000 Metcalf Street
Call the Eagles Club at (360) 855-0530 with any event questions and to participate in the BBQ cookoff. e Eagles will be hosting four events in their parking lot on Monday, July 3: e annual Barbeque in the Parking Lot will be held on July 4 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 1000 Metcalf Street. ere will be hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, and more.
• e Eagles Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
•A BBQ Cook-Off from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
•Mechanical bull from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• e Chris Eger Band will be playing from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fireworks Show
Sedro-Woolley’s patriotic fireworks show is held at Riverfront Park at dusk on July Fourth, sponsored by the LoggerodeoTM and WECU. Fireworks are provided by Freedom Entertainment Fireworks of
Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Come early to picnic or tailgate in the parking lot across from the park.
Grand Parade
e Grand Parade, sponsored by Sierra Pacific, is organized by the Sedro-Woolley Lions. e parade begins at 11 a.m. on July Fourth.
The Great Sedro-Woolley Footrace
e 45th annual Great Sedro-Woolley Footrace will be held July 4 at 9:30 a.m. sharp. e 5.17-Mile Race and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk are sponsored by the LoggerodeoTM, Sedro-Woolley Rotary and Skagit Runners. Mail or drop off registration forms to the Janicki Logging Office located at 103 N. Township St. by noon Friday, June 30. Check-in and same day registration will be 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Sedro-Woolley High School gym. For more information, please visit www. sedrowoolleyfootrace.com.
Kiddie Parade
e Kiddie Parade, for kids 12 and under, will take place on Sunday, July 2 at 1 p.m. Participants should line up between 12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. behind Lemley Chapel. Judging will be handled by a community panel at 12:45 p.m. Same day registrants are welcome or entry forms are available on loggerodeo.org to bring with you.
Log Drive
A favorite event until it ended in the 1990s, the Sedro-Woolley Lions Club is working hard to bring the Log Drive back in 2023! Check the Lions Club website (sedrowoolleylions.com) for a phone number to call for event confirmation and tickets.
Logging Exhibition
e Logging Exhibition is back! e show will take place on Monday, July 3 at 1 p.m. most likely in the lot at Janicki Fields where the high school LoggerodeoTM is held.
Patriotic Business and House Decorating Contest
Decorate your home or business for the Fourth of July! Individual homeowners and businesses participate in the contest each year, decorating their home or business in red, white, and blue for this patriotic themed decorating contest. Judging will take place on Friday, June 30 at 1 p.m.
New! Pie Eating Contest
Do you love pie? Sign up to participate in our new Pie Eating Contest! e event will take place at Hammer Heritage Square at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 2. Participants should come at 1:30 p.m. to sign-in. Preregistration is required.
Sedro-Woolley Rodeo
e Sedro-Woolley Riding Club board of directors is working hard on an exciting rodeo weekend with three days of free admission events followed by two days of rodeo performances. Events will run between June 30 and July 4 and include the PRCA Rodeo, Stick Pony Races, Friday Night Lights Barrel Racing, Rascal Rodeo, and a Mounted Shooting competition. Street Dance
e 2023 Street Dance will be held Saturday, July 1 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the corner of Metcalf and Ferry streets at Hammer Heritage Square. e band will be the Kevin Helgeson Band.
