Das Weingut der Marchesi de‘ Frescobaldi konnte ihr Weinhandwerk im Lauf von mehr als sieben Jahrhunderten verfeinern und die Geschichte des Weingutes Antinori geht gar bis in das 12. Jahrhundert zurück. Die Reben für diese klassischen, meist roten Tropfen gedeihen in der Toskana. Frescobaldi besitzt das Castello di Nipozzano, das Castello di Pomino (wo interessanterweise nur weisse Rebsorten kultiviert werden), das Castello Castiglioni sowie Castelgiocondo, woher einer der wohl berühmtesten Brunello di Montalcino stammt. In diesem Keller in Montalcino wird aus Sangiovese und Merlot der Luce einer der bedeutendsten Supertuscans gekeltert. Auch gehört die Tenuta dell’Ornellaia in Bolgheri in den Besitz der Frescobaldis. Auch das „Weingut Antinori“ besteht aus vielen einzelnen, eher kleinen Weingütern, welche in der gesamten Toskana verstreut sind. Die gesamte Rebfläche beträgt etwas über 2.000 Hektar. Aus einer kleinen Einzellage des Weingutes Santa Christina stammt der „Solaia“, einer der gefragtesten – und auch teuersten – Weine Italiens. Auf dem selben Weingut reifen die Reben für den Tignanello. Dieser Blend aus Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese und Cabernet Sauvignon wurde Anfang der 1970er-Jahre auf den Markt gebracht und gilt als „Vater“ der Supertuscans. Die Weine beider Familien kommen meist in einem strahlenden Rubinrot daher. Alle Weine – in allen Preissegmenten – zeigen

Frescobaldi owns Castello di Nipozzano, Castello di Pomino (where, interestingly, only white grape varieties are cultivated), Castello Castiglioni and Castelgiocondo, from where one of the probably most famous Brunello di Montalcino wine comes. This is where Luce, one of the most important Super Tuscan wines, is produced by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. The Frescobaldi family also owns Tenuta dell’Ornellaia in Bolgheri. The Antinori winery also consists of many individual, quite small vineyards that are scattered across Tuscany. The total vineyard area exceeds 2,000 hectares. The Solaia wine, one of the most sought-after – and most expensive – Italian wines, comes from a small single wine plot of the Santa Christina vineyard. The grapes for the Tignanello wine grow on the same estate. This blend of Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon was launched on the market at the beginning of the 1970’s and is deemed the ‘father’ of the Super Tuscans. The wines of both families usually have a brilliant ruby-red colour. All wines – in all price ranges – have the texture typical of Tuscan wines: Aromatic grapes tickle the nose, a soft and silky texture seduces the senses and the finish is very intense and long. Depth, finesse, elegance and harmony. Long-lived, exclusive, and very enticing! 
