SCHOLARSHIPS SLCC has many scholarship opportunities for first-year and continuing students. The best part is scholarships don’t need to be paid back—they are free money—and all kinds of students receive scholarships.

SLCC PROMISE SLCC Promise helps eligible students pay for their education by covering the cost of tuition and fees when Pell grants fall short. SLCC Promise is intended to remove economic barriers and to provide a pathway for SLCC students to complete their degrees.

OPEN SLCC Open Educational Resources are a less expensive alternative to traditional textbooks. Students using Open SLCC resources have saved an estimated $12.5 million combined.

When an unexpected illness made attending college difficult, Mary took time to prioritize her health and fully recover before joining the SLCC community. She was attracted to SLCC for its affordability and location and now loves the environment that it provides. She was the 2019-2020 SLCC Student Association president and is pursuing a second associate’s degree, studying business and psychology, in hopes of becoming a therapist.
