DEGREE OPTIONS ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE (AS)
If you would like to complete your general education and prerequisite courses prior to transferring to a bachelor’s degree program at a Utah public four-year college or university, this path is for you. This is a great option for students who want to structure their major for a specific area of study.
ASSOCIATE OF ARTS (AA) This degree choice is much like the AS degree with the addition of a foreign language requirement.
ASSOCIATE OF PRE-ENGINEERING (APE)
This is a specialized program to prepare you for transferring seamlessly into an engineering program at a Utah public four-year college or university. You will be required to complete a significant amount of engineering coursework, while taking fewer general education courses.
ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (AAS)
If you’re interested in a fast track toward an entry-level career, this choice is right for you. AAS degrees require more major-specific courses with fewer general education requirements.

HANDS-ON LEARNING SCHOOL OF APPLIED TECHNOLOGY
You’ve been in school most of your life, and maybe the thought of four, five or six more years of school isn’t for you. The School of Applied Technology can help you start your career. The School of Applied Technology doesn’t have traditional semesters, so start times are more flexible. You may be able to move through the curriculum more quickly if you already have skills or knowledge in your area of interest through prior coursework, on-the-job training, military training or other life and work experience. slcc.edu/satts
COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION (CBE)
The competency-based education model can give you college credit for life and work experience in areas like healthcare, technical support, truck driving, website design, and electronics and engine repair.

RYAN FRYE
spent most of his 20s trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. When he found the SLCC Culinary Institute, he found his passion for cooking. Frye is now the executive chef at the historic Washington School House Hotel in Park City and is considering starting his own restaurant.

BENNETT FLOYD
is a father of five and the main breadwinner in his family. He found SLCC when he needed to retool his career while continuing to work full-time, allowing him to avoid debt for another degree. In 2019, he graduated from an affordable, flexible six-month program in web design and development, expanding his long-term earning potential far beyond his previous position.

broke her neck in a serious car accident when she was 16, had to learn how to talk, eat and even breathe again and wondered how she would ever return to school. She felt lost for years, but after building her confidence enrolled at SLCC with the help of the Disability Resource Center and has since thrived in this new chapter in her life. She has been involved with the Thayne Center for Student Life, Leadership and Community Engagement and would like to transfer to a four-year school to major in communications with a focus on public speaking.

TRANSFER & AP CREDIT
If you have taken courses at another institution, submit an official transcript at slcc.edu/transcriptevaluation when you apply to SLCC. Your classes will be evaluated so you receive the credit you have earned. High school students who have AP test scores will send an official copy of the scores from the testing company.
