The Vail Valley real estate market has seen an increase in demand and gained strong upward momentum in the first half of 2014. At over $630 million in total sales, we have seen an increase in sales volume of 45% compared to this same period in 2013, and an all-time high for this timeframe over the past four years. With the total number of transactions, average sales prices, and highest sales price, all at their highest since 2010 , this has been a record setting year for the Vail Valley. Throughout the valley, real estate sales showed vigorous improvement over the past 6 months. Vail Village and Lionshead sales volume is up over 96% compared to this time last year. Moving down valley, condo and townhome sales have pushed sales volume for Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead up over 88%, 63% and 38% respectively. Sales of properties over $3 million have dramatically increased to over $259 million in sales volume compared to $98 million for this time period last year. With over double the number of transactions, this is certainly a burgeoning segment of the market. With demand up and inventory still low in most segments of the market we expect the second half of 2014 to continue its upward momentum.
