PORSCHE: MISSION E
A sports car that covers over 500 kilometers with superb performance— but without a drop of gasoline? Welcome to the future: Mission E electric concept car.
“The designers’ dream is for the Mission E to acquire a status similar to that of the 911,” says Michael Mauer, head of Porsche Design. Mission E represents the future. The concept shows what the first purely electric sports car in the brand’s history could look like. And how it meets every Porsche standard in terms of performance, fuel efficiency, driving dynamics, and everyday practicality, based on revolutionary technology. And of course, with a timeless, elegant, aesthetic form.
PORSCHE TAYCAN
Then there’s the extraordinary, fullyelectric Taycan, which arrived on our shores this year and is already making a niche for itself.
Capable of 0-100 in 2.8 seconds, and 400km of range on a 20-minute charge, the Taycan is the first production vehicle with a system voltage of 800 volts, instead of the usual 400 volts for many electric cars.
Australian models come with the Mobile Charger Connect as standard, providing intelligent charging functions as well as a Charging Cable (Mode 3) for use at AC public charging stations. You can charge at home and on the road. Owners of a Taycan receive three years’ access to Australia’s largest EV charging network where you can charge for free across all ultra-rapid and participating fast charging stations. Chargefox stations provide the complimentary charging services.
With the Porsche Home Energy Manager, you can charge your vehicle quickly and easily at home, while also making sure your household electric appliances are supplied with efficient energy. You can check the remaining range of your Taycan, current charge status, and set how long to charge your Taycan all from your smartphone using the Porsche Connect App. There is a range calculator for the different models: With the range indicator, you can determine the estimated range for your journey. The calculation is based on your personal driving profile, your travelling conditions and the respective model equipment. When on the road, the Taycan, as well as Porsche plug-in hybrid models, benefits from the expanding Porsche Destination Charging network being installed across metro and regional sites. Porsche Destination Chargers capable of AC charging are being installed across both metropolitan and regional sites giving owners access to complimentary charging of Porsche models. Porsche Destination Charging will continue to be installed at premium lifestyle destinations such as luxury hotels, theatres and entertainment venues, restaurants, shopping precincts and cellar door locations.
The full-electric Porsche Taycan is now available to order in Australia. There are three variants and pricing starts from $191,000 for the Taycan 4S, $269,100 for the Turbo and $339,100 for the range-topping Taycan Turbo S, plus on-road costs.
