r o h t u A e h t About
Hi, I’m Anna Reiner. I’ve lived in small towns such as Logan, Lancaster and Ashville Ohio. I’m a junior at Teays Valley High School. I’m an honors student and my favorite subjects to study are art, German and Spanish. In my spare time, I like to draw, read and write. I also enjoy taking photographs and doing volunteer work. Many people have helped shape my interests and sculpted me into the person I am now. My parents have always invested time in my education, and me, making sure I have gained knowledge on a wide variety of subjects. My other family members have introduced me to other aspects of life that I otherwise would not have known about. Teachers and friends have also fueled my passion
for learning and artistic expression. These people have helped me accomplish so many things in life thus far and will continue to do so. After high school I would like to study graphic design or food chemistry. I would also love to do some work in third world countries to help with the problems that come with extreme poverty. Five years from now, I can see myself graduated from college and started in a graphic design job for a company. Later, I would like to move to the Western United States or to Europe. To me, art is a form of selfexpression and discovery. Over the years I have used my artistic abilities to convey my emotions and feelings as I’ve moved through rough times in my life. In my opinion, art cannot be defined as one certain thing. There are many different forms, each different but equally effective as another.

Caitlin Worthington Imagine scrolling through the posts on your favorite social network only to come across this startling picture. This is what happened to me only a few weeks ago while looking at the Photography page on Pinterest. The brilliant blue eyes captivated me and instead of re-pinning the photo and continuing, I stopped. I clicked on the pin and this is how I discovered Caitlin Worthington. Caitlin Worthington is a 24 year-old photographer from Perth, Australia. She began showing an interest in photography when she was very young and it grew into a passion for art. In 2010, she began blogging and posting her work. She now works as a free lance photographer. Many models and stylists have worked with Caitlin to produce immaculate, attention-catching photography.
Her pictures capture young women and children in almost unearthly ways. I was mesmerized by the way she captured innocence, darkness, fierceness and sophistication. I was amazed with her attention to detail and lighting. Her pictures stand out because they are not comparable to other fashion/ portrait photography. The photographs do not strictly capture the clothing, how it is worn and how the model looks. Caitlin Worthington’s photographs capture an essence, a feeling. To find more of Caitlin Worthington’s works, you can find her on many social media sights. You can find her on Facebook at Caitlin Worthington Photography, Tumblr at Glittering heads Dream and Twitter at Caitlin Worthington. Her official website is www.caitlinworthington.com and her blog is Glittering Heads Dream. I highly encourage readers to check out this fantastic artist.

Matthew Brandt:
Water Works T
he picture below may look like it was taken on another planet in some strange, colorful galaxy but in all reality, it was taken at Sylvan Lake in South Dakota. So how does a simple picture of a lake get to look so other-worldly? Matthew Brandt uses a unique approach to developing his final photograph. First, he goes out to a select location and takes a picture of the lake. Then, he collects water from the lake that he has photographed; he then prints the photograph. The photograph is printed as a chromogenic color print. After that, the print is soaked in the water collected from that lake. The water soaks into the print, causing certain colors to be highlighted. Certain sediments in the water cause different effects such as sparkle or grittiness.
Brandt has also used other unique material to process and print his photographs. His exhibit, Taste Tests, uses Cheez Whiz as the main media. Brandt has also used materials such as honeybees, Kool-Aid, dust and several types of bubble gum. “The serendipitous interactive quality of the materials is always important in the works. In some ways I consider my work to orchestrate an interaction between material and image. I try to step back as much as possible to let process take hold, but there is always guiding that needs to be done, Brandt told the editor of Slate’s Behold blog. His works continue to fascinate and inspire viewers.
