biography My name is Kathryn Webb, although I prefer just to be called Katy. As a child, I grew up I a suburb in Delaware, Ohio. During that time, I went both to public and private school, however in the summer of 2014, my family, which consists of me, my parents, my Chihuahua, and my 4 goldfish, moved to Ostrander, Ohio. The transition wasn’t all that difficult because I didn’t have a plethora of friends at my old school, and I had a friend who had already switched schools and was living at that neighborhood. Ostrander is a mostly rural area with an abundance of farmland and a small downtown area full of charm and a good pizza place, however, I live in a small subdivision with neutral colored houses, dark tiled roofs, and a few people even have swimming pools! My house is white with a black roof and black shutters. I go to Buckeye Valley, a small ‘country’ school with about 1,000 kids. I really enjoy it there, and I love many of my teachers and the staff. Very few people have been incredibly important in my life until this year. This year, my sophomore year of high school, has been quite the impossible year. I have found my solace in music, art, my amazing parents, and my super supportive boyfriend. My mom and dad are super proud of who I am and don’t lash out if I mess something up or get a bad grade, they just encourage me to do better. My boyfriend, Henry, is super attractive, super smart, and super important to me. at this point in time, we’ve been together for six months, which is practically the entire time that we’ve known each other. We
met over the summer, at band camp: two incredibly hot weeks of marching, sweating, and in a muddy, buggy field, also known as one of my favorite things ever. The first thing he said to me was, “Wow… You’re really good at drawing!” This was while I was doodling during a break we had. He has been able to make me laugh on days where I’ve been crying and has encouraged me to do what I love. Not only is he my boyfriend, but he is also my best friend. Art and music mean a lot to me. I love all art: modern, paintings, computer graphics, 3D, etc. The same can be said for music; it all inspires me to do well. I’ve noticed that my artwork looks the best while listening to alternative and punk rock music, and I think it makes me do better because it’s loud, has a good beat, and can be energizing to me. Other than art, I really enjoy marching/symphonic band. We have a great director, Paul Brunner, who I, personally, find really entertaining. In band, I play B flat clarinet, and Henry plays bass drum. Most of my friends, in fact, come from band, and the rest come from my art classes. I also enjoy playing Nintendo video games with my boyfriend and friends. My favorite game is definately Legend of Zelda. I am also somewhat bilingual, as I can struggle my way through a sentence in Spanish. I’m not sure what I want to do in or after college, but as of right now, my friend and I are working on a web comic. My favorite things in life are my four goldfish, good food, and color, specifically black, white, red, and African violet. In about five years, I hope to be in college and in a long term relationship with my boyfriend, or possibly engaged, but as of right now, I’m only 16 and I try to
