Get ready for ISE 2023
più importanti per la fiera. Come pensate di incoraggiare questi visitatori a venire all'ISE?
All to Barcelona from January 31st to February 3rd
The 2023 edition of Integrated Systems Europe already promises to be very lively, there will be plenty of news and updates, but above all the fair will offer numerous opportunities for contact with the leaders and innovators of the AV and Systems Integration sector
ISE will return to Barcelona next February, in its classic time frame, after the last edition in the unusual but restorative May, after two years of postponements and forced changes of course. The move to Barcelona is also marking the further evolution towards a fair that talks about applications and vertical markets, services, and opporatunities to respond through technologies to many, many needs. "At ISE 2023 there will be all the professional AV technologies related to the integration of systems that shape the way we live, play and work. It is the ever-evolving meeting between AV technol-
ogies and networks, integrated into creative solutions to transform industry, business, and lifestyle, "said Mike Blackman, Managing Director of ISE. We will therefore see how the market and visitors will react, and how the city will react, given that there is already talk of + 30% of occupied spaces compared to May 2022.
The Multi-Tech Zone in the centre
Anyone who wants to appreciate the extent of innovation in the AV industry will have to go to the Multi-Technology Zone located in the heart of ISE (Halls 3 and 5). Because the ability to interactively involve both present and remote audiences is fundamental for the future of AV. The clearest examples are found in tourist attractions and live event venues, many of which combine film techniques, interactive content, and theatrical design to offer visitors a unique experience. This approach applies as much to the AV / IT team in the office as it does to the live show producer. Immersive workspaces are also transforming offices around the world with video conferencing and collaboration systems needed to connect building staff with remote colleagues. University departments and schools are another key market in this sense: students will be able to not only view and share information, but also to live it through a sensory, tangible, and virtual experience. Unified Communications and Education Technology Considering the growing integration between Unified Communication and educational technologies, ISE has decided to combine these two groups of solutions in a single Technology Zone, located in Hall 2. Throughout the education sector, whether it be classrooms, vocational training or distance learning, the positive impact of technology on student achievement and the creation of more inclusive learning spaces is recognised. The exhibition area will therefore host companies of all sizes offering from individual applications to solutions for the entire classroom.
Technologies for working from home
ISE has long been at the forefront of residential solutions and home automation, with the support of the partner CEDIA. And think about the smart buildings sector, thanks to the many years of experience of the Smart Building Conference (Tuesday 31 January 2023). The Residential & Smart Building Zone (Hall 2) will host all these sectors. In the last two years there has also been a real expansion in the use of technologies for working from home, which becomes a multifunctional space for comfort and rest, but also for work; a learning environment, cinema, game room or gym. There is also greater attention to the environment: advanced building monitoring and control systems represent a rapidly growing technological trend, integrated into the design of smart buildings.
Digital Signage and DooH
Another key issue is Digital Signage which, according to Avixa data, should reach a turnover of 44.7 billion dollars in 2026, compared to 35 billion dollars in 2022. The digitised promotion of products and services continues to be one of the main engines of the installations; however, the DS's ability to educate, inform and entertain means that the technology is applicable in diverse market sectors, from retail to transportation and education to business, hospitality and the public sector. The Digital Signage and DooH Zone, in Hall 6, houses the full range of technologies for this vibrant market.
Hearing is believing
The Audio Zone in Hall 7 will be full of solutions for every market sector, for projects of every size and for every application. The novelty of 2023, however, is the Audio Demo Suites, available in Hall 8. The fair will cover the entire audio signal chain, from
microphones to speakers. You will be able to discover the latest in DSP, networking, and immersive audio, as well as try dozens of audio products in specific demos.
Unforgettable performances
Visitors will find solutions for show, entertainment, and live events - not only for large concerts but also for small venues and temporary installations - in the Lighting and Staging Technology Zone in Hall 7. Here, visitors will be able to see the developments in the quality of lighting and colours, control and distribution methods. Technologies such as motion tracking, video mapping and holography will be presented along with the essential elements of rigging and staging. Our “traditional” pre-show interview with Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events, allows us to find out more about the preparations for the 2023 edition.
Last edition we saw at ISE some “unusual” companies for the event, like Lenovo (that was in the process of acquiring Poly). Will there be at ISE 2023 some other examples of companies coming from the IT and entering the AV market? AV and IT are more closely connected than ever before, there are plenty of companies that are exploring this avenue, providing more reasons for IT and networking professionals to come to ISE 2023. IT networks are the communications backbone for enterprise and increasingly support integrated AV solutions. Whether it's collaboration systems in meeting rooms, voice alarm systems in public spaces or digital signage almost anywhere, successful deployment requires the involvement, and the mutual understanding of the twin disciplines of IT and AV. In smart buildings, IT and OT (operational technology) systems need to be closely integrated. In Hall 2 at ISE 2023 you’ll find the Residential and Smart Building Zone, featuring providers of smart building infrastructure and equipment. Enabling remote collaboration is one of the most important responsibilities for IT teams, particularly in recent years. The Unified Communications and Education Technology Zone in Hall 2 also features both hardware and software to equip everywhere from the smallest huddle space to the corporate boardroom, or even auditorium. Digital signage has become critical for business and is an important means of communication across many forms of building – from marketing messages in business headquarters, advertising in retail and wayfinding in healthcare and university campuses, for example. The Digital Signage and DooH Zone in Hall 6 features suppliers of digital signage players, displays and software.
We see, also from the style of communications focusing more and more on applications, that professional end users are more and more important for the show, how are you going to encourage those visitors to come to ISE? ISE is the perfect platform to showcase the technologies that will enhance the end-user experience and you can find some specialised areas for a variety of sectors. Once again, we are using Technology Zones to group together exhibitors with similar technologies; this approach makes it easier for attendees to find and compare the solutions they are looking for and saves them time. Education at ISE: do you have anticipations of what ISE is going to propose this year? We’re delighted to offer a comprehensive four-day conference programme running alongside the show. The highly anticipated conference agenda will consist of: • Smart Building Conference • Digital Signage Summit • Control Rooms Summit • Content Production & Distribution Summit • Education Technology Summit • Smart Workplace Summit • Live Events Summit This year conferences will take place away from the bustle of the show floor. Located in two CC Suite rooms above the show floor, the new space provides a dedicated area for absorbing high-impact panel discussions and thought-provoking keynotes. Many Asian companies finish their fiscal years in March, so that they are having two ISE in the same fiscal year. Is this aspect limiting the presence of big Asian companies? We already have around 200 Asian companies committed to exhibiting with still a few months to go. This is a great sign that the industry is ready for ISE 2023. We made the decision for ISE 2022 to take place in May for it to be as safe and accessible as possible at the time, but we’re looking forward to returning to our usual spot in the AV calendar. What are some new features for ISE 2023? We have a number of new show floor changes for 2023 including a new Content Production and Distribution focus in Hall 6 and new Audio Demo Rooms in Hall 8. Make sure you visit the thriving Congress Square area, right at the heart of the venue. It will be a bustling area packed with innovations and interesting booths including the Media Gallery, Catalonian Pavilion, the inspiring Discovery Zone, Influencer & Impact Lounge, as well as a dedicated networking area. This year, we’ll be encouraging visitors to explore the city of Barcelona with a number of activities happening during the week and into the weekend, using the power of AV, systems integration and lighting. Llum BCN, festival of the light arts, takes place from 4 - 6 February and we are delighted to be sponsoring the event, so explore the city and be inspired!
