My full name is Sean Mark Harrod and I am a designer from Noctorum, Wirral. As well as studying graphic design I am interested in photography, both digital and film, also animation, stop motion and motion graphics. My hobbies include football (I play 5-a-side on a regular basis), I’m an avid supporter of Liverpool FC and part-time supporter of Rochdale AFC. Gaming is another hobby, mainly Xbox. I have a wide taste in music, from Earth Wind and Fire to Skrillex and my favourite film is Airplane! In addition I enjoy travelling, most recently visiting Orlando and Miami. I follow a lot of flash animations, mostly on Newgrounds and Youtube. I hold a full UK driving licence.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY June 2013 - Present Graphic Designer - Eclipse Print & Design I am currently working at Eclipse, mainly as designer, but also helping on many other parts of the company, such as printing and working on the guillotine. The most valuable experience working here has been working to very tight deadlines, checking and double checking for errors, and dealing with customers on the phone, by email or face to face. Nov 2009 - Sep 2012 Part-time Shop Assistant - The Co-operative Food Working at the Co-operative taught me how to deal with different people. Some situations with customers can be difficult, but offering compromise and keeping calm is a skill I quickly learnt. Sep 2008 - Nov 2009 Part-time Kitchen Porter - The Grove House Hotel Working as a kitchen porter helped me to work hard and at speed. I feel that it also enabled me to get into the routine of concentrating on a task.
WORK PLACEMENTS 2011 Fourth Wall Creative - fourthwallcreative.com Fourth Wall Creative was a short experience, however I had good opportunities to create work; brainstorming ideas for children’s products and working on a packaging design for a signed David James football shirt. 2008 Nonconform Design - nonconform.co.uk The placement at Nonconform was during my time at Pensby Sixth Form. I enjoyed being part of the group, listening in on meetings with clients and designers alike. I also got a chance to work on a few projects briefly, one involved researching and branding for an Arthur Dooley exhibiton.
