HOME REMEDY FOR REMOVING TARTAR FROM TEETH Buildup of tartar in teeth is natural process which resulted due to plaque, the sticky film that clings around teeth. Later this sticky substance becomes hard enough to form a hard layer. Plaque takes around two days to reach half of its thickness and after 12 days, it can turn even harder than a rock. Once a plaque reaches its full thickness, then it is not possible to remove it by your own as it might require professional assistance to remove it completely from the teeth. In order to avoid such situation, tartar can be prevented or its buildup can be minimized by taking good oral care at home. Keeping this view in mind here are some home remedies for the removal of tartar: Brushing Teeth: Brushing is one basic thing that everyone should do to maintain healthy teeth. Almost every dentist recommends, at least twice a day, brushing lasting for minimum 10 minutes for effective control of tartar. Electronic brushes are used by many individuals but brushing, using normal brush is considered to be more helpful. Flossing your teeth at least once a day is another effective way through which food residual can be removed between teeth and gums. Tartar can easily be removed if you scrap the floss against the surface of the teeth. In addition to this, dental pick can also be used to scrape tartar from the surface. By mixing some amount of hydrogen peroxide with antiseptic mouthwash in equal amount and rinsing your mouth with that mixture may help in removing tartar. Make sure that by doing so you do not swallow the mixture as ingesting the liquid may cause vomiting. Gently swish the liquid properly in your mouth around gums and teeth and after swishing for at least one minute, tilt your head back, gargle and spit out the solution. Swishing peroxide may produces bubbles that are helpful in losing the grip of tartar attached around the teeth. Baking Soda: Another technique to remove tartar from the surface is the application of baking soda that possesses bleaching properties and is slightly abrasive. Baking soda is not only good for removing plaque from teeth but also makes your teeth look whiter and improves overall appearance of your teeth. By taking small amount of baking soda mixed with few drops of water a paste is made, which can be applied all over the teeth using tooth brush. A noticeable

difference can be seen after brushing your teeth with the paste and for effective results. You may use this technique on daily basis. Reference: http://www.researchomatic.com/New-Research/Teeth-204259.html
