What are the problems with rats

What Are the Problems With Rats? Michael Jackson might once have sung about his best friend Ben the rat, but not all of us feel the same about these little rodents. While they can make fantastic pets, wild rats on the other hand can be a nuisance if they make their way in to your home or place of business and can lead you to researching experts in rat control in Manchester. One of the biggest problems with rats is that they are very clever. This means that they can invariably find their way in to any area, and can easily set up a very comfortable home (by their standards at least). Some important facts about common brown rat and the other problem is that they have a tendency to breed – a lot. And rapidly. This means that what might have started out as just two little rats setting up home in your garage has turned in to a significantly larger family in literally no time at all. To be honest the main problem with rats will vary depending on the situation in which you find yourself having to deal with them. If they have found their way in to your home then the main issues will be the potential disease and noise they bring with them.

Rats can get themselves in to the wall cavities and loft spaces. This means that there is a good chance you are going to hear them scurrying about at all hours of the day and night. Especially the night. In turn this can be very disruptive to your family’s sleep, not to mention a little bit creepy. The other down side of their ability to get in to these nooks and crannies is that they can be very difficult to get out again. Another problem is that rats can carry a large number of different diseases. Remember the bubonic plague? That was rats (well, the fleas on rats, but you know what we’re saying). Asides from the diseases they carry themselves there is always the risk that they will leave droppings wherever they go – which will not be a pleasant addition to your home, regardless of where they have decided to set up their nest. Add to this the smell that such droppings can cause, and the potential for dead rats to remain undiscovered for long periods of time and you have some nasty issues on your hands.

Of course all of these problems are also common within commercial settings, although in many situations they may not seem so prevalent. In larger areas, perhaps warehouses, the smell of rats may go unnoticed for some time. However, the damage they cause will not. In attempts to find food, or even more suitable bedding, rats will chew through cables, boxes and just about anything you don’t want them to. This can lead to heavy destruction of products and goods that you may be hoping to sell on. Author Bio: Hayden Price has a keen interest in all aspects of pest control. His articles on the subject inform readers about eradicate pest, insect, as well as rat control across Manchester, the North West and the surrounding.
