The FreeFloat™ lens cut consists of slots cut into the lens blank near the frame and lens attachment points isolating them from the critical area of the lens. By doing this, pressure induced stress that typically transfers from the frame into the lens no longer has an effect on the geometry of the critical optical area of the eyewear. In the same way the FreeFloat™ lens technology isolates frame-induced stress from reaching the lens, it inversely reduces any stress imposed on the lens from reaching the frame.

How does ChromaPop™ lens technology work? Normally, our eye’s retina has trouble perceiving the difference between blue and green, and red and green light. ChromaPop™ lens technology integrates with our various lens tints and materials to filter these specific crossovers, allowing greater definition, natural color, and clarity.

Which ChromaPop™ lens is right for you? VLT - VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION The VLT rating on Smith lenses shows how much light passes through them. The higher the VLT rating, the more light comes through that lens. Lower VLT rated lenses are good for bright, sunny days, whereas higher rated lenses are best in cloudy or low light situations.
