A sunny squeeze!

Tweed is hiring. The Smiths Falls medical marijuana company, located on Hershey Drive in Smiths Falls, is looking to hire a few good men and women. “We have 14 job postings right now, but one of them is looking for 10 greenhouse positions for our Niagara-on-the-Lake facility,” said Jordan Sinclair, communications and marketing for Tweed. “In Smiths Falls, we’re always looking for people for customer care, and social media,” among many other job opportunities. “We require a lot more bodies,” Sinclair said, adding that they have long-term ambitions and are rapidly

expanding. “We are always looking for good people… IQ over experience.” Tweed Inc. is now expanding with the addition of some grow-rooms. There is space for 30. “We have constant construction going on and right now we’re adding another six grow rooms,” he said. Trading news Tweed and sister company Tweed Farms are owned subsidiaries of Canopy Growth Corporation, and is traded on the TSX Exchange as CGC. It’s a Canadian company licensed under the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations. Sinclair explained that recently that the CGC has been uplifted to the TSX, “which is great news.”

An Olympic send-off

LPGA star Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls received a warm sendoff at the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club on Friday prior to her participation at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. See the story and more photos inside this week.
