Learner of the Month

Concept Hair Learner of the Month celebrates hairdressing and barbering students and apprentices who have gone that extra mile.

Aimee is a Level 2 apprentice at Polished HQ in Leeds and is studying at Westrow Academy. As our October winner, she won a fantastic ghd helios hairdryer. Aimee, 17, said: “I am so proud of myself for winning the award. I worked so hard for it and I am so, so happy!”

Aimee says her dream is to one day open her own salon or even create her own products and styling equipment. T he award, which is open to all full-time learners and apprentices, aims to celebrate the amazing work that upcoming talent in the industry is producing. Fame and in the next issue of Concept Hair! Asha won a prize bundle worth £100 from Pro Hair Tape as our November winner.

Asha is currently working towards her Level 3 in hairdressing at East Midlands-based salon group, KH Hair.

Asha loves working on the salon floor with clients and has a particular passion for colour. She has lots of goals she would like to achieve in her career.

Asha told us: “I’m working towards taking part in competitions such as TrendVision, plus I’d also like to be involved in photoshoots and one day have my own salon!” Elsie won a set of professional brushes from Kent Brushes as our December Learner of the Month. Elsie joined the hair industry three years ago at the age of 16, gaining her level 2 qualification at Truro college. She is now working towards her level 3 while working in a busy salon. Asked what she loves most about her job, Elsie tod us: “I love finishing a client's hair and knowing that they love what I've done. I enjoy the whole process from start to finish — especially when colouring — but it's so nice to make people feel good about themselves and feel happy with their hair.”
