ON-GOING EDUCATION

We hold weekly meetings and training sessions as a team where I take staff through different techniques and ideas that they can translate into their work. Apprentices get one-on-one training throughout the week. We are constantly taking advantage of the online training seminars that our professional product brands offer.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

It’s so important for us to always provide support to the team and a clear path where they can progress up the career ladder and become better stylists. Appropriate support and guidance are given and meetings are put in place to chat to the stylists about their goals and where they want to go. If they need to work on a certain skill, appropriate learning and training is discussed and provided.

MOTIVATION

Employees are left to do their job with freedom and trust, but with myself always there should they need any help or advice. When a team member has done something fantastic, bonuses and credit are always given.

ON-GOING EDUCATION

We have strong relationships with professional brands and educational platforms that allow all team members to attend training sessions outside of the salon, or virtually. We’ve also been in partnership with a top college for over 10 years, building a successful apprenticeship programme. I also train the team personally every week. door’ policy. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Zoology sets realistic goals for team members and operates with an ‘open small salon group with sites in Newtongrange, Eskbank and Haddington. Over the years, the group has gained a reputation for its exceptionally high standards, outstanding customer care and impeccable attention to detail.

ON-GOING TRAINING

We work closely with Redken who offer the remote L’Oréal Access programme. Each team member has dedicated time set aside each week to undertake as many courses as they like.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Chapter One was established eight years ago and within that time we’ve had four apprentices work their way right up to senior stylist level and they’re still with us today, motivating others and showing them what is possible. The team are also offered invaluable opportunities to participate in hairdressing competitions that can really enhance their portfolio.

We have a clear salary structure for the various positions within the salon. We also offer incredible experiences outside the salon – we’ve taken our team on trips to London, Barcelona, and Las Vegas, for example.
