POP- UP SPACE CHALLENGE
To design a space that could be utilized in many different ways, from a Christmas store to a Margarita bar and silent auction
GOALS
Create many dynamic spaces within an otherwise ordinary building Think outside of the box to create movable partitions
SOLUTION
Designed vertical expanding semi-transparent partitions and free standing horizontal partitions Lowered a section of the space below grade to create a hierarchy of space
PROJECT BRIEF
This project emphasizes strategic spatial divisions and the contrast between large and intimate spaces. Space is divided by semi-transparent partitions, multi-functional pop-up elements, and changes in ground levels. The fold and stack actions are utilized effectively to construct partitions and pop-up elements. The building is located off of the downtown square in Fayetteville, AR . The project utilizes its location as a driving factor for bringing in the community through several different events and methods.

SHOWROOM CHALLENGE
Create and design unique wall coverings and a showroom. The space has double entrances, consultation and display areas, and a maker's space upstairs.
GOALS
Make the space innovative and experiential, utilizing the wall coverings as an inspiration to the design idea.
SOLUTION
Utilized a curved ceiling plane to capture the moment of a wall covering made with coffee filters Designed unique stairs to avoid regularity
PROJECT BRIEF
This project studies a retail showroom that has the purpose of displaying beautiful wall coverings and consulting with clients. The idea of this store is to use ordinary, everyday objects that are mass-produced and transform them into innovative wall coverings. For example, coffee filters and metallic spoons repeated on a wall transforms a space. The repetitive nature of these wall coverings and the curvature of the coffee filters inspired the overall spacethroughout the stairs, to the ceiling, and even through the consultation space.

CHILDREN'S MUSEUM CHALLENGE
Transform an abandoned hospital into something with much more excitement and life- a children's museum. Space plan efficiently for fun, activities, and services.
GOALS
Make sure the space brings together community and gives children a place to have fun while also learning. Also, create a comfortable space for parents.
SOLUTION
Utilize bright colors, exciting activities, and unique elements to create an inviting space. Delineate space into different learning activities: arts, sciences, and nature.
PROJECT BRIEF
This project, located in close proximity to downtown Fayetteville, AR, is a Children's Museum for the arts and sciences. The project is organized by three main areas of importance: arts, sciences, and nature. The building was derived from the organization systems of the building in its place before, which was an abandoned hospital. We kept the important spatial systems but redeveloped them to create a modern and innovative space. The project seeks to create a fun space for children, while also engaging parents. A triangle window wall is utilized as a striking feature and emphasizes the long walkway to the arrival space. Model of Museum

CHALLENGE
Create a comforting sauna building that respects thermal experiences
GOALS
Make the space warm and appealing Engage traditional sauna ideology
PROJECT BRIEF
SAUNA SOLUTION
Utilize compression and expansion in plan and section to reinforce the idea of different temperature levels
The goal of this project was to engage the surrounding woods and the nearby lake and establish a sauna which uses traditional Swedish ideology in a new way. The space seeks to send you through an experience of expansion and contraction through tight doorways and large open rest areas with slanted ceilings. The sauna incorporates the stove room in the heart of the building, surrounded by a rest area, washroom, terrace, and plunge pool. The site also provides the sense of expansion and contraction through the walkway to the arrival space.

ASSEMBLAGE CHALLENGE
Take a shoe and deconstruct it, then re-imagine it as a "3D collage" of ideas and moments of the shoe
GOALS
Capture the moment in time of taking layers of the shoe and splitting them apart
SOLUTION
Use wood panels to represent layers, held together by string and acrylic pipes, floating weightlessly in acrylic casing
PROJECT BRIEF
The goal of this project was to find inspiration in the methods of making a shoe and the design concepts of a shoe. I chose to study a Doc Marten shoe, and found great inspiration in the stitching and binding of the shoe. This physical representation of the design seeks to capture this moment of making and the magic that happens between the layers. The project provides a bundle of mass somehow "floating" in transparent casing, effectively capturing the moment and giving it a weightless aspect.

SHOE COMPANY HQ CHALLENGE
To work around a challenging column grid and limited natural light to create a productive and enjoyable work environment for an eco-friendly shoe company headquarters.
GOALS
Make sure the offices reflect the brand well, emphasize a respect for the environment, and make the employees feel at home and a tight knit connection with the company.
SOLUTION
Utilize an interwoven concept to create space and an interesting ceiling structure Give structured spaces a fluid quality with collapsible glass partitions to reinforce collaboration
PROJECT BRIEF
This project seeks to capture the moment of the intricate workings of building a shoe, the makings of a company and a healthy employee atmosphere. This is accomplished by incorporating woven aspects in ceiling and in furniture. The weaving makes space, creating the feeling of being inside of the textiles, the company, and a work family. The project is located in a multi-story building converted from a Campbell's soup factory which now houses several offices and residences.
