CONCEPT :

AUDIENCE :

CONTEXT :

Using the concept of ‘camouflage’ - the year book would represents not only the course but the individual person as well. It would merge the work produced and the artist together rather than disguising them. As a contrast it reveals, shows and uncovers whilst maintaining the strong bond between the artist and the work. We will explore the concept trough appropriate imagery, layout and typography.

- industry - parents - perspective students - graduates - the exhibition visitors

The year book would be used for the LCA End of Year Show as well as during the interview period and course open days.

THE COVER

THE COVER TYPOGRAPHY

The Print & Textiles course is predominantly visual as for that we decided to use striking visual typography which encompasses our concept of camouflage and includes the pattern of each individual student that would be used in the 3D modelled typographic cover title.

Elizabeth Tyrer has developed a hand rendered sketch of the cover title script that would be used later on as a visual direction whiles developing the 3D modelled of the title. In order to complete this we will enlist in help from Almantas Vasiliauskas who is a commercial animator working with 3D modelling.

WORK & STUDENT PHOTO-SHOOT: Looking at last years year book for Print&Textiles we have identified few areas that we would like to address. We want to clarify contact information by using an appropriate layout as well as experimenting with the idea of a swatch book which would be relevant to the course area.

We decided to use a new and more contemporary photography methods to showcase the work as well as the artist. Trough portrait photography that would be combined with body art or camouflage. Where the artist would merge into his patters which would be used as a backdrop that would complement the concept and make the year book aesthetically striking.
