LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Every time I’m in the store with my boys and pass the toy section, they inevitably crane their little necks to look for the Hot Wheels. And the vast majority of drawings crafted at school and brought home for display on the refrigerator are cars. We’ve thus accumulated pictures of old cars, fast cars, futuristic cars (including ones that can fly), jeeps, trucks, motorcycles, and list goes on and on. And most of my kids’ friends at school seem to share the same fascination with everything automotive. I’m beginning to think man’s love for cars is innate. I sat down to think about influential people in the automotive industry, and I figured who better to write about than Henry Ford? We all know Ford as the American founder of the Ford Motor Company and the father of the modern assembly lines used in mass production. And I would be remiss to mention Henry Ford without including the importance of his Model T, the automobile that revolutionized American transportation and industry. And most of us learned something of Ford’s incredibly successful business model as well as his numerous inventions. (He was awarded 161 U.S. patents to be exact.) But when I looked
up Henry Ford online to read about his life and his career, what I found most notable were the multitude of meaningful words he spoke and left behind as a legacy of encouragement to future generations of Americans to be a nation of individuals who are creative, ambitious, and unwilling to settle for mediocrity. Here are my 3 favorite Ford quotes: “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” “The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can’t are both right. Which one are you?” “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”

Color Trends: • Ombre – This color trend gives you darker roots and brighter ends for depth and brilliance. • Highlights – This color trend brightens up your hair for a nice summer shine.
COLORS & TREATMENTS Numerous treatments are available for a variety of purposes. Below are 4 treatments that will help you to have healthy, beautiful hair all summer. Also, I’ve included 2 current trends in hair color. Treatments: • Keratin Smoothing Treatment – This treatment adds natural keratin back to your hair and takes away 95% of frizz. It also protects color and cuts drying time in half. It’s a great way to allow your hair to dry naturally, which gives your hair a break from hot tools. • Chlorine / Salt Water Remover – Spending time in the pool or the lake? Try this: Mix 1 cup of water, 1 Tablespoon of baking soda, and 2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar.
Leave
the mixture in your hair for 10 minutes and then rinse. This treatment clarifies your hair all chlorine and salt impurities. so6ix.com | JUNE 2012

things you haven’t been accustomed to in the past. This will excite your lover too.
CANCER (JUNE 21 - JULY 22) You need to make some serious choices this month. There are good and bad friends in your circle now, and you need to be astute enough to remove those who are simply causing you grief and not really reciprocating the friendship. You are feeling as if your spiritual evolution is quickening, and you can ill afford to hang out with people who will limit you.
LEO (JULY 23 - AUGUST 22) If a relationship or friendship is ending now, you should take this as an opportunity to open new doors and experience a whole new vista of life. There is no point arguing with someone who hasn’t got the capacity to listen or the will to change. You can only change yourself, and this month the planets indicate that you have a prime opportunity to clear the decks and start afresh.
VIRGO (AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22) The opportunity to improve your skills may bring respect from those you love. Although this may be a tedious exercise to begin with, your self-respect will improve, and you will see the results in all of your relationships, personal and professional. You need to be prepared to extend yourself and to try 46

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22) You are either expecting too much of yourself or someone else you may have just met recently. Give the relationship time to mature, and don’t be hasty in drawing your conclusions. What’s more, half the fun is in the chase, and if you play a little harder to get, you can expect the relationship to be all the more exciting and rewarding in the coming weeks.
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21) You are forceful in demanding your needs be met in your relationships currently. This month don’t be afraid to call a spade a spade, especially if someone is short-changing you emotionally. Perhaps you’re trying to be too nice and extremely patient, wanting to wait it out to see whether this person will change. Will they start to give you more of what you believe you deserve? Probably not.
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21) You’re feeling extremely playful this month with
S AT I R E
GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUNE 20) Gemini, this month you can think outside the square and utilise your creative thinking to improve your relationships. If you and your partner are in a rut, it’s time to take the relationship to the next level even if you unsettle your lover by taking him or her out of the comfort zone. If you’ve been planning a trip, expect this to take a little longer than expected, but in the end your preparation will pay off. your mind wanting a variety of different sensual experiences. If you are with someone who is going through a similar cycle, you can expect this month to be a sizzler! Unfortunately, the other person is a little humdrum and not into exploring life’s possibilities so boredom may set in, in which case you may be looking further afield to satisfy your emotional and physical appetites.
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19) This month, Capricorn, you will not be able to pretend you are not angry. Others will see through the veneer of your fake smile. Rather, it is best to be honest and try to keep a measure of control over the way you present your case. Integrity seems to be your key word this month, and if you can manage to express your displeasure in a respectful way, you may be able to patch things up.
AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18) Someone you have great affection for may want to play the field, and this could leave you feeling as if their level of commitment is not as strong as yours. Just because they want to have fun and explore their own personal and creative identity doesn’t mean that they don’t love you. This week, it’s a case of working on your own self and developing a sense of inner security rather than relying on your partner.
PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 - MARCH 20) You need to get out and about this month Pisces as Jupiter is transiting your zone of travel, intellectual curiosity and fun. Venus indicates that love is high on your agenda. You need to find emotional fulfilment in areas that can make you feel socially satisfied as well. This will be a hectic and pleasurable few days, so just be careful not to burn yourself out.
ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 19) Friends may aggressively push you in a direction you do not want to go. If you are interested in pursuing a relationship but your peers do not agree, you need to be mindful of the so-called good advice you are being given. Any relationship verdict is your choice and yours alone. This month make your own decisions without consultation of third parties.
TAURUS (APRIL 20 - MAY 20) You may find it difficult to enjoy the company of the ones you love especially with Mars in full force. You need to become more efficient with the time you have available. Make room in your diary to spend with your nearest and dearest. You need to use humour to lighten up an otherwise hectic and possibly stressful few weeks. so6ix.com | JUNE 2012

TRACI SELLARS Traci Sellers is the Internet Client Advisor at Jackie Cooper BMW & MINI. In August of 2006, Traci made a career change that she never anticipated making. Prior to working at the dealership, Traci only had negative experiences with buying cars; however, that changed when she began working at Jackie Cooper BMW & Mini. She learned that buying a car didn’t have to be a negative experience. And as an employee there, her main focus became proving that purchasing a vehicle from her could actually be fun and enjoyable. With her cheerful, heartfelt enthusiasm, she has a passion for finding the perfect vehicle for each and every customer. Clients often compliment Traci on her warm smile, soft demeanor, and low-pressure sales approach. In 2007 Traci not only earned her first annual Top Sales Award at Jackie Cooper MINI, but she also received national awards and recognition from MINI USA. She has continued to receive those same awards every year since. However, her customer’s complete satisfaction is her greatest reward of all. Since July of 2011 Traci has been working in the Internet Department where she continues to help existing clients who want to purchase new MINI’s, and she also works with all clients from pre-owned to new BMW’s and anything the other Cooper Auto Group dealerships have to offer. This has allowed her to grow as a Client Advisor, learn new product, and have no limits to her clients. She is eager and willing to build a relationship with you while helping you to find the perfect new vehicle. Feel free to stop by, call, or email her at: tsellers@cooperautogroup.com 405-753-7032 58

JOHN CABLE John Cable is the General Manager for Cable Motors Inc. You might know Cable Motors better for their Volkswagen and Mitsubishi franchises on NW 39th. John is a third generation automotive dealer. His grandfather, Gale, started the original dealership, and it continues to operate under John’s father, Greg. Cable Motors began in 1965 and continues to serve Oklahoma City for their new and used automotive needs, including a full service body shop, automotive service department, parts department, and automotive sales. Many readers can vouch for the hard work and care that the Cable Motors team puts into their work, and this effort is rewarded in the customers’ long lasting patronage to the dealerships. John is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma, and a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. John has over 15 years of experience in the automotive business. He started in the industry when he was very young, and he has climbed his way up the ladder within the organization to become the General Manager for Cable Motors. John has participated in NADA’s Second Generation Program, and he has achieved Master Sales with Volkswagen Group USA and Diamond Elite with Mitsubishi Motors. John has worked side by side at the dealership with his parents, Barb and Greg, and he says that most of what he has learned within the business can be attributed to the two of them, as well as many of his managers that he either sold cars under or wrote service tickets for. After 10 years of continued friendship, John has recently married his best friend, Stephanie. She continues to be part of his strength and success now and in the future. According to John, the reason he loves the automotive business is because of the people he gets to meet and communicate with on a regular basis. He enjoys the friendships that he builds through the success of his automotive business. so6ix.com | JUNE 2012
