OKLAHOMA CITY ROOFTOPS BY

Jensen Smith

What is it about rooftops that are so enticing to Oklahomans? If you don’t believe me, suggest a restaurant to someone followed by, “it has a really nice rooftop patio,” and watch them become immediately interested. You’ll see what I mean. My guess is, each day Oklahomans, native and non-native alike, are becoming more and more aware of how much this city is growing. SPOTLIGHT ON (405) 753-4455 12325 N. May Ave Oklahoma City, Ok 73120

T H E R A P Y PA I N T & S I P BY Britta Newton PHOTOGRAPHY BY Clifton Roberts BEAUTY LOOK CREATED BY: Madi Martin FEATURING Heather Carter

For this month's Boutique Spotlight, I chose the only boutique in town with a little extra fun! At Therapy Paint & Sip, you can buy all the latest trends in women's (and men's) apparel, and also book a night out with that cute guy you met in yoga class. Therapy always has some great sales happening, and owner Kasi Stonebraker is always eager to get to know her customers and future artists!Â

In this look, I put Heather in some adorable printed shorts. Wearing high-waisted shorts and placing her in this long sleeve blouse with jacket hides any problem areas on the arms or torso and keeps the focus on her stems and beautiful hair and makeup!Â

44

so6ix.com | AUGUST 2013

I styled Heather Carter for this shoot, featuring some of Therapy's items for late summer. I wanted to show off some great going out looks that allow you to express your creativity personal style!

I

wanted

to

have

a little more fun with this

going

out

look.

Mixing these psychedelic patterns will be sure to get you attention in a positive way. Flowy leg pants like this are tricky to wear out without, sometimes making you feel frumpy. Try getting some with the slits up the leg like these! By tucking a low cut tank into the pants we give Heather a waist line and make sure she doesn't get lost behind all those patterns. Just for a fun accessory, we threw on a flower headband.

Be sure to check out Therapy for new fall shipments and don’t forget to tell them you saw their spotlight in So6ix!

S AT I R E

AUGUST 2013 BY

Dadhichi Toth

www.astrology.com.au

play your cards right you are likely to gain the recognition of those in positions of authority. Your social affairs pick up steam as well with Venus transiting your zone of friendships. Be careful not to put someone on a pedestal, as you could be severely disappointed in the end.

VIRGO (AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22) Combative tendencies are seen in your social sphere. Although you may be correct in your assessment of things and your opinions will be backed up by the proper facts and figures, you need to diffuse a problematic situation. Don’t get caught in the crossfire if these problems are between two mutual friends. It is best to stay out of the fray and bite your tongue until the fifth.

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22) You have an extraordinary capacity for work and will be planning big things. Others whose vision is not as broad as yours will try to cut you down due to jealousy and personal insecurities. It may be better to keep some of your plans to yourself. The whole period of the sixth until the twenty-first is excellent to forge ahead in your social life so expect some wonderful events, parties and other social gatherings during this period of the month.

SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21) You have far reaching plans this month and if you 46

so6ix.com | AUGUST 2013

SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21) Enjoy the charming, sensual and seductive energies of Venus as she moves through the upper part of your horoscope throughout August. The confusing influence of Neptune on romance demands careful choices for a dalliance if that is what you desire. Plenty of action on the social front after the seventeenth ensures that this month will be one to remember. You'll probably party harder that you had anticipated.

CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19) There is luck surrounding older friends this month. You have wonderful opportunities to forge new business partnerships and generally feel lucky with in the world. Mars and Jupiter bless you with some good luck but take care not to over extend yourself and promise more than you can deliver. This may be notable between the second and the fifth. Your sexual energies are strong and you need to find an adequate outlet to explore and express these primal urges.

S AT I R E

LEO (JULY 23 - AUGUST 22) This is the time of the year when you need to make radical changes within your own being. You may want to finally do something that has been on the back of your mind for years. Between the fourth and the tenth don't be afraid to put your best foot forward and try something new. This can lead to a shakeup in an existing relationship because you are daring to be different and step out from the crowd. You must be true to yourself. Between the twenty-third and the twenty-fifth, take a closer look at issues relating to taxes or savings.

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18) You have problems remaining focused during the first week of the month as Mars and Uranus create sudden and unexpected outbursts, either from yourself or others. Peace can once again be had by the seventeenth thanks to Venus and the Sun but by the twenty-first the influence of Uranus will destabilize many of your activities and most importantly your mind. Meditation, will power with greater focus, and generally keeping to yourself are advisable.

PISCES

(FEBRUARY 19 - MARCH 20) You have high expectations for your relationships in August as evidenced by Venus in your zone of marriage; however, make an effort to avoid arguments as Mercury and Mars make you somewhat arrogant in conversation. Let the other person lead before offering your opinions. Take care not to speculate too heavily around the twenty-first when again a gamble may end up becoming a debt.

ARIES

(MARCH 21 - APRIL 19) The month begins with the full moon and this accentuates your self-awareness. Don't allow this to cause you to be selfish. Instead, look at ways in which you can improve yourself and also augment the quality of your friendships. You're lucky on the second, thirteenth, and again the twenty-first.

TAURUS (APRIL 20 - MAY 20) This month Venus will cause you to take some action to clear up those unsightly messes. Get your things in order to get back on track working in an environment that is conducive to producing your best work. Due to the action of Mars you will extend this energy to your workplace and may also choose to do some renovations or revamping of your living space after the twenty-eighth.

GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUNE 20) You have big plans this month but may not be aware that you need greater resources and skills than you currently have. Between the fourth and the eighth is a good time to investigate educational programs to increase your ability on the work front. You are happy at home with Venus softening your social appetites. Family affairs prosper.

CANCER (JUNE 21 - JULY 22) Money again seems to be the theme this month but you may miss several good opportunities especially in the first week of the month if you are too hot-headed or impulsive. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Listen to others, take their cues and you will be able to find some new windows of opportunity opening up for you. so6ix.com | AUGUST 2013
